So I'm getting a copy of wind waker sometime soon but I can't decide.... Spend 300 and get a wii u or hunt down the cheaper more rare GameCube version... There's pros and cons to both but I still can't decide for one. Help!

... hard to say. The GC version will be a pain in the ass to find, plus you are going most likely pay more for it now then when it came out. But it would still probably be cheaper than going the other way.

Getting the WiiU console edition means you get the system to play it but also a Zelda themed controller and a digital copy of Hyrule Historia. But it will still be pricy and the game itself will be a download and not a disc... and my experience with it the past few days doesn't give me a good feeling about the eShop on the WiiU.

The WiiU version has a new sail that doubles speed and ignores wind direction. That might be a sticking point, considering that the entire Overworld is water.
