Has anyone ever thought of using Professor Layton as a Displaced, or Phoenix Wright for that matter?

It sounds like an interesting crossover, but I wouldn't know how to start it or even how to go about writing it. I think Layton may be a better choice between the two only because his knowledge seems to cover more fields. Also, he's somewhat skilled in swordplay. Opens more options for conflict.

It's not Displaced, but there was that one PW/MLP crossover, Turnabout Storm.

Why not cross both of them over with mlp?

Mostly because PL vs PW brought in a whole new array of puzzle-solving for both parties including actually using witnesses key testimonies to find contradictions, using a giant spell book to find contradictions in witnesses testimonies, finding glasses in a milk bucket, Phoenix being phoenix in layton puzzle situations ala objection of a key saying said key is actually the puzzle
