Me I don't mind them really, think they could do with some improved lore anyway.

What do you think would happen if the primaris ran into the iron warriors? Or better yet, if the iron warriors got hold of the Primaris marines who were made from there gene seed. Thoughts?

i like them

Their lore is badly written and they screwed up normal marines in the rules by existing. I end up always proxying them just because the old marines are made of cardboard and only the primaris feel like elite super soldiers armoured like a tank.
Yeah I'm a little salty about them :derpytongue2:

On the story they'd likely be slightly better marines that'd be more remarkable for having their geneseed than from their somewhat better abilities. They might be either easier to convert or harder, due to being from the time of the heresy, so that might be a plus.

All in all they don't make that much of a difference. Hell, Gilbert being back is going to cause much more of a splash than them, I'd say!

Same, minis are awesome while lore is imperial onanism at its finest.
The scenario you present is quite interesting actually, reaction may be interesting. And as far as confrontations there has been already. There's accounts that IW thought inmediately on the Thunder Warriors when they saw them along more conventional astartes

very doubtful that would ever happen, the Iron Warriors know who is their Primarch, their wouldn't let anyone take their his place(too prideful for that) is and they are well aware what they did and don't regret it in lt he least for turning their backs to the Emperor.

I think what OP means is that is HEAVILY HINTED that first batches of primaris came from geneseed from all legions, so, assuming this is the case there would be a good chance that some of the current primaris are in fact sons of Perturabo

They die the same as other marines, are higly specialized units and pricy on the tabletop and in our wallets, I use CSM of the Iron Warriors chapter inspires in the age of iron series here un fimfiction with some additions and it Is an awersome army (I even have the pink Dreadnought and everything)

Personally I felt like they just got screwed over at launch, games workshop should release the full force and about five or six books covering their lore. The plus side though is that make great templates for making thunder warriors I've already converted one.

In regards to them being made from traitor stock, I wouldn't put it passed Cawl who knows what that dude did in 10,000 years. The only thing I'm against is traitor primaris chaos space already have edges over regular Marines.

I think it would have been cool for the primaris made from the traitor legions to go on a campaign to redeem there fallen chapters. A bit of a new meet the old and ever try to put them down or save them from chaos. Even if it is hopeless for the chaos marines.

As far as i know, nothing debunks the theory, if anything is quite obvious that if they were made of forbidden stocks they would not twll them. Granted, such a thing can't be hidden forever from the apotecarion

I have nothing wrong with the concept of the Primaris Marines. Someone managing to improve upon the Space Marines isn't an issue. But it was handled horribly poorly, and there is no reason the regular space marines wouldn't use the improved weapons, armor, and equipment. Also they don't really fit in. Space Marines have always been about tactical flexibility, where squads can combat many different threats. But the Primaris squads are all very focused on one role, with nothing in the way of the integrated special weapons that basically the entire rest of the army has. This might make sense if the lore had something about them not being as tactically aware or something, making them kind of like Marine Ogryns or something like that where they need to be focused on a specific task. But no such thing exists.
