One thing about comic book characters, death is never permanent. Yeah, death could and would win the fight, but they are like cats but worse. You could go out of your way to kill a character. Kill them in all timelines, eliminate them from all histories, make sure they are eliminated down to the individual subatomic particles that would eventually become them somehow not get created in the big bang. They will literally just walk into frame two pages later. The people who were supposed to forget they even existed wondering why they aren't dead. "Eh, got bored."
