6919081 Admittedly, my thought process is that as Rarity's mindset deteriorated under the influence of the book that everything she manifested with the tome would deteriorate also.

It will get her into Canterlot faster and noble's will notice, she will drift away from her friends and the time starts to do stuff where it will protect its user from anything with any means necessary.
