During the search of the old archive i found this tumblr called Ask the Guard Ponies, which basically what happen if equestria instead just have royal guard but also a military rivaling U.S Armed Force.
while some of the history remain the same as the show like nightmare moon. But with something extra Like: equestria are not on thousand year at peace instead equestria went through a war...a lot of war.....world war, war on terror, insurgency the like.
also they have guns, tank, and any armored vehicles. while they don't have helicopter (one of the pony says gyrocopter type vehicles are too dangerous), but they have armored zepplin imagine AC-130 spooky but instead circle around they hover. and they also wear full set of clothing and full BDU along with their pants

History Section -----> Searching-------->Tartarus War------->Begin

Tartarus War or Hell war (or In Human term Called World War 2) by other race are consider one of the largest and the most brutal war in history of equestria.
the war start In 986 the combined forces contained behind the Gates of Tartarus broke through the Pony and Griffon defenses. Kobolds. Demons. Gargoyles. Minotaurs. Diamond dogs. Void Sands. Creatures too horrible to name. Their only goal the expedient and utter annihilation of all peaceful life on the continent. They rampaged across Equestria and the Griffon Kingdom for 5 long bloody years, finally being rounded up by the end of 991.

Note:
ok so due to pony lack of finger, most of you probably ask how does the ponies fire their weapon, well their weapon (pegasus, earth pony, and deer only) are fired via tail harnes (thompson smg on picture #1) or hoof sized trigger (M200 sniper that being held by the deer on picture #2).

So 3 years have pass huh, three fucking years since the war start and finally we have peace year ago Equestria and griffon sign an armistice putting to an end of Hostilities of both side ending the war but came at a price

Ponies lost their home and their loved one, Griffon still starving, any many many horible thing had happen

now i back home after traveling across world and battlefield observing, and conducting research with other armies of equestria and griffonia and beyond

i will start from Zebra Empire one of the closest allies of Equestria

The Zebra Colonial Marines are the Expeditionary Forces of the Zebra Empire, responsible for defending the South Equestrian Zebra Colony. The Colonial Marines a modern and efficient landing force that over the centuries have mastered island hopping and rapid troop deployment. The Marines recieve the best funding and are the testbed for new military equipment, vehicles and technology. The Zebra Empire announced the cessation of hostilities with the Kingdom of Equestria in 790, but the Marines’ maintained their animosity towards the Equestrian Earth Guard until the forming of the Three Kingdom Alliance in 910. The zebra and pony forces gained a mutual respect and have been allied in every conflict since. The Colonial Marines’ symbol is a golden halberd on a navy blue background, dating back to before the Pony-Mustang War.

The Colonial Marines are now updated to how they should look in the year 1006.

Next are Stalliongrad Resistance, they were created shortly after initial occupation of Stalliongrad by Griffon Militaries during early stage of war

The Stalliongrad Resistance was created in 1002 by veterans and civilians to fight the Griffon Army occupying forces shortly after the beginning of the Pony-Griffon war. Resistance members wear civilian cold weather clothing, surplus military uniforms and captured Griffon equipment. The Resistance scavenges Griffon weapons and civilian guns, with the Equestrian Air Force airdropping in supplies and munitions. There are several districts under Resistance control that the Griffon Army are attempting to re-capture.

Next are Equestrian Air Force

The Equestrian Air Force with its zeppelins provides Close Air Support and Aerial Reconnaissance for Ground Forces and Naval Infantry, engaging terrestrial targets as needed. Small fast-moving transport blimps airlift Airborne units into battle and zeppelins equipped with radar domes float in the stratosphere providing long range radar coverage.

Equestrian Navy

The Equestrian Navy is the naval branch of the Royal Guard, founded in 710. The navy consists of frigates, missile destroyers, attack submarines and assorted support vessels, prioritizing mobility and rapid deployment and artillery support of naval infantry in coastal engagements. The task of Marines evolved from defending the ship of the line against boarding to amphibious warfare.

For the 4th-8th century picture, that's clearly a Matchlock Musket, but still, they all look awesome!

This'd make for a cool RTS game, if the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4 didn't exist already
