Hiya.
Recommending a novel this time. A real novel, not a novel-length fanfiction.
Written in Red, by Anne Bishop
Thank you for your patience. Philadelphia is hardly getting banished to the moon—heck, I didn’t even open Call Up Emrakul to Help during the Un-Known event—but it’s still kind of appropriate that a book starring Luna ended up getting delayed because I was out of town.
With the Daring Do trilogy complete, this week begins my look at the “Princess Collection,” a tetralogy of all the alicorns but Flurry Heart, each paired with a season. We begin with Celestia; let’s see how G. M. Berrow treats the sun queen:
Alrighty, folks. I'm gunning for 2,000 words/day this month, and even with my great run these last three weeks I'm still way behind on that goal. So I shall attempt to keep this short in spite of the many topics I want to cover today. Here's to 4k for the day!
We now come to the novel I put off last week. It does present a truly rare opportunity: A chance to flesh out Cadence. We got the story of her ascension in the novels, after all. Let’s see what this one offers.
Guys! I wrote a novel! :O
I know this is FiMfiction and there are novel writers everywhere, but it's downright strange to have an actual novel under my belt. So what did I actually learn from this once-in-a-lifetime experience?
So for those of you who've read the epilogue to TOWAT, thank you for reading it to the end. If you haven't gotten into it yet, go and take a look, but there's mother/son incest involved, otherwise, avoid it like the plague if that isn't your cup of tea.
August comes, and as promised a couple months ago, I've been working on my anthro novel, though I've found the going much slower and harder than I would like. I'm stuck at one place in particular right now that's giving me fits. I'm finding it hard, unfortunately, to slip back into the mindset that writing this kind of anthro fiction requires and re-immerse myself in this world I created several years ago. I can only hope that will
As my article on knowing the ending demonstrated, there are many tools you can use to help you complete a story of any length. At issue in using all such tools is building confidence while moderating procrastination. Almost all authors, especially unpublished and poorly published ones, have a crippling fear of failure1. Going from idea, to character generation, to plot generation, to writing, to
Hi all,
As mentioned in one of my posts, I said I was starting to write a novel. Most of my stories will be on hiatus, apart from Hogwarts year one, which is on my list of to finish stories.
Once I have finished the following(most of them are on Fanfiction.net), I will return to FimFiction and finish Hamlet: The Rightful Sunset Shimmer, A court of Beasts and Beauties and some others.
Here is the list of stories I need to finish:
As you may know, my novel:
also contains songs.
I've sung those songs myself. I've tried and tried for years but never managed to remove cringe from my music. For that reason, my produced songs were never published anywhere. You could search the whole internet and you would never find them anywhere.
Seriously. That Animated Short was awesome. And the presentation during the opening ceremonies? Beyond epic. The moment the “Global Launch” retrospective glitched, I knew what they were doing and basically had this expression.
I took a look at the Canterlot Tell-All, but that’s just the Humane 7 commenting on the events of the first three movies. Some interesting tidbits like Sunset wanting to travel the world, but definitely not enough to justify a card blog. So we move on while staying in the human world.
So, I have some updates, albeit few. I've been working on another chapter for Beautiful Stories, and have also been hopping over to my official novel project and doing work there. Great news on the latter is that I've managed to finish the prologue (though, it is a tad short), and have already started up the first proper chapter. I've also written down some key notes to help me keep things straight,
I can't believe this happens..... I got a message today from a user who contacted me about reading my fics on YouTube a few days ago and now he read "The End"!
I can't believe this fic got two readings now and that even in such a short amount of time!
Yup. It's been a busy weekend.
First... a new, tender short story starring my favorite couple, Sunny and Twi!
Second, the new chapter of How Not to Use Your Royal Prerogative is up!
I was messing around with Google Translate on Skype, with Editor Man and some other fabulous people, plugging in bits of stories and reverse-translating them to see what came out. Just now, for fun, I ran Killjoy's introductory scene through a Japanese translator and then back into English. The result is too hilarious not to share with the world.
