I just caught up to "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" and have not stopped shrieking with absolute glee since! This was epic! I feel like I've been waiting years for this, mainly because I have. I am so happy with how they got them, too. The writers totally did them right! Now to watch it again!
I made this to celebrate yesterday's absolutely amazing episode. It was the only way to make my happy tears stop. I'm not dramatic, what are you talkin' about?
Okay, so... calmed down, watched the ep again now that my head wasn't exploding for the last five minutes of it.
Overall, a great episode. Very strongly reminiscent of Magical Mystery Cure, and considering what happens it's an appropriate parallel. The numerous songs, the transformation at the end, the letter to Celestia. This felt like a season finale, in a good way, because it was grand and world-changing.
I'm fully aware how later I am, but I have a full fledged explanation!
I started orientation for work yesterday (by the way I got a job, go me) but I didn't get to sleep till like midnight, woke up at 5, couldn't sleep again, was at orientation nine to six, came home, ended up passing out at like eight, and eventually woke up, tried to go to sleep, sleep, said screw it, played Borderlands till four.
Anyway, on to the episode!
Holy crap, my heart. That episode. I... I... can't...
I'm a little bit in shock right now. Season 5 is just so... progressive? Not the implication I'm looking for, but the best definition.
Still no screencaps. Going back to the episode and combing it for frames is the last thing I want to do right now. Spoilers ahead, of course. Drop what you're doing and watch this thing if you haven't already. Jeez.
Well, you did it, Hasbro. You really did it this time.
It's a little late, but I needed some time to let this sink in. After four and a half seasons, the CMC FINALLY have their cutie marks and I'm... disappointed.
So Crusaders of the Lost Mark was Season 5's musical episode. While Diamond Tiara had her fair share of singing, she apparently had a verse in We'll Make Our Mark that was cut for time.
Sucks, because it's amazing.
Alrighty, so we got another Crusader episode today. I wasn't expecting much- Crusader episodes often feeling subpar to me, with the sole exception being Flight to the Finish in season 4.
Boy was I surprised. More after the break.
First of all, before I spoil anything, let me get this out of the way:
There! Now...
OHMIGOSHOMIGOSHOMIGOSH!!!
The episode opens with a song. Cool! I mean, that doesn't happen a lot! In fact, the last time that happened was...
Twilicorn.
Huh. Should have been our first clue that something big was about to go down.
Frenemies Talk, Chapter XVII: Crusaders of the Lost Mark
"Alright Gulheru, take it easy, it's just a Crusaders' episode. They will be stupid, cause an issue, learn an obvious lesson and we can advance onto more pressing concerns..."
SPOILERS!!!
is it odd for me to be happier that they kind of confirmed the death of AJ, Big Mack, and AB's parents than of their cutie marks? i mean, im happy, but not as happy as when they confirmed the death. i was actually yelling "YES!,YES!" at my screen.
So, this is my first blog, ever. I'm really not sure how to go about this, but I really needed to get some words out in the open, instead of say, boiling in my brain area. First things first, Crusaders of the Lost Mark. I might cry. It was really the perfect CMC episode for me. Many spoilers ahead, so stop now or forever keep your peace. At first, I thought this would be another Indiana Jones style episode like Read It and Weep. I was gladly mistaken. This episode turned out to be the absolute
I'M SO PROUD!
When I work at Target, my main responsibilities are helping unload the truck and taking care of all the cardboard we go through each truck day. Since getting my smartphone, I've taken to listening to music while I bale. I've listened to Hey Ocean (Ashleigh Ball's band), Willa (the artist name that Dragon Lord Ember's VA Ali Milner goes by), and lately all the songs from seasons 1-5 of MLP and all the Equestria Girls films.
WARNING: Contains Mild Spoilers to Crusaders of the Lost Mark
This blog post mainly is going to address Scootaloo's (Not so Cool) Cutie Mark. But it applies to Cutie Mark Crisis as well.
As you all know Scootaloo's (Not so Cool) Cutie Mark takes place in the same universe as Sisterly Bonds: The Rewrite and I would like to stress that what I say about not so cool cutie mark applies to that universe as well.
Usually don't bother doing a blog post about episodes because I don't have much to say, but given the storyline significance of the episode and the fact it is the 5th anniversary I guess it makes sense.
In case the title didn't clue you in then warning, spoilers ahead.
*ahem*
...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Okay, now that that's over, let's talk about the episode that broke the status quo of MLP. Well, I guess Twilight's Kingdom broke it too with all the DBZ fighting but whatevs.
