Today is a great time to be alive. I know that at many times, it can be otherwise. How could I say something like this? Because the world is the Titanic, and it is sinking. But we are in the lifeboats.
So after a few weeks of being unable to go to church on Sundays, I came to a thought. While Eucharist is out of the question for a number of reasons, anyone who is Orthodox is allowed to do the Scripture readings in church. So here it is! The daily bible readings for the third Sunday of Pascha. For those who don't know, Pascha (pronounced Pahs-kuh) is the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, and the origin of Easter (though where the bunny comes from is beyond me). If you follow
There's this statue of Satan that was put up on display in an Iowa courthouse, and this one fighter pilot running for office, Michael Cassidy, just decapitated it. (And now he's getting charged for it.)
Today's Epistle is from the Book of Acts, 11: 19-26 and 29-30 (oca.org skips verses 27 and 28. Not sure why.)
19. "Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.
20. But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
Today's Epistle is from the book of Acts, 9:32-42.
"Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda.
33. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.
34. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.
I don’t know what’s up with these religious dreams of mine. After my out-of body experience, I now dreamt about Jesus and his apostles.
I was digging the ground, for some reason. I found a map. It was all dirty with mud, but it was legible.
The map had a marking on another location, so I went dug there as well.
Forgive the emotional post but I'm up late crying so bear with me
The wonderous mercy of God to me, the worst of all sinners, sometimes falls upon me like some sort of glorious rock, and I can't shake it. And I even find reflections or shadows of his glorious Gospel even in this stupid little tv show about horses we all obsess over.
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! -Philippians 2:6-8
Christ is Born!
So many of you know i'm Mormon, some of you might not. I just thought to share this Christmas message with all of you who share my belief in Jesus Christ. Those of you who don't, your still welcome to watch and see why I believe in a savior if you want.
Mary Christmas, and let us try to remember the reasons for the season. #ASaviorIsBorn.
Who here likes Fallout? Maybe ponies too? Maybe want to contribute to an author who's working the fallout pony scene? Well my boy Volrathxp is recruiting people for his Patreon in the leadup to April 2nd, when he's raffling off a copy of his latest work, Fallout: Equestria - Mending Hearts. So go show a fellow author some love!
Netflix has released a Brazilian satirical web special called The First Temptation of Christ, produced by Porta dos Fundos. Many Christians were outraged, considering it to be blasphemous due to the portrayal of Jesus Christ having a gay lover and Mother Mary smoking marijuana.
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example of those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:15-16
A man was walking past three workers in a construction zone where a library was going to be built. He yelled over the noise, "What are you three men doing?"
The first worker replied, "I'm drilling a hole."
The second worker said, "I'm earning $20 an hour."
The third worker smiled. "I am building a temple of learning."
