Because I'm not sure if banning certain speech gets rid of it. It just tends to go underground. Human beings are not perfect, malice, and disdain for others will always be with us.
We would be perfect if we were something like the Borg. However, I find the concept of being something like the Borg as incredibly evil since it rids us of our free will. I don't like the concept of the Conversion Bureau fan fiction series for this very reason, it rids us of our humanity.
Hello there everyone! I hope you are being as patient as ever... well, yeah, I know, waiting is usually not fun. But hey, soon I'll finally do the interesting thing I was talking about for TTN. But recently I found a video... one that I do find to be awkward... and I feel like I am over exaggerating on that account. But seriously... I felt awkward doing this. (What is it that you might ask?) Well... let's just say that I gave a speech... one I sort of criticize for not having properly
With the presidential election coming up in the US, we've all seen the tempers fraying and the shit being slung by both sides. My American readers should know this better than anyone. Whether you support Hillary, feel the Bern, or believe that the Trump can't be stumped, you can't deny that this is an election that has had more than its fair share of vitriol, anger and bitterness.
Hey, guys! It's been a pretty minute since I've posted anything on the site, and given some recent events that have happened, I've decided to go ahead and put an end to my hiatus. So with that brief little intro out of the way, let's dig deep, shall we?
Hey, everyone! How are you all doing today? :)
I'm doing well, myself, but I wanted to go and and write another short blog today regarding a situation that happened earlier this month.
Does anyone else here use a microphone to write? As in converting your speech to text.
It can be fun to do so. However, you may need to use your keyboard to fix it up. It can be useful to spell difficult words.
It also can be fun to be mad drunk while shouting out words to make your story.
This is me trying out some speech recognition software, hope it goes well.
I'm looking for someone who can translate normal speech into Zecora's style of rhyme. I could probably do it myself, but I'm a lazy guy. But in all seriousness, I plan on featuring Zecora in the future, and I want to do her speech pattern right.
So, does anyone where I can find someone, or perhaps a group, that has a good grasp on our favorite zebra?
Tomorrow is 9-11. I will prepare my speech for tomorrow.
Hello, this is my first ever blog on FiMFic and it is very much inspired by my recent participation in comment chains under Titty Sparkle's blogs about current events.
I am strongly interested in preservation of free speech and human rights, it's a basis of my beliefs and views about the world. I want to present my thesis that limiting the extent of free speech is important towards extending and maintaining it.
Just wanted to post a quick reminder that whenever you see somebody post something such as:
"Hey by the way, the supreme court ruled that things like foalcon are protected under the 1st Amendment, so they can't ban it from the website!"
Just the other day I went to see Pixar's Inside Out, being the animation freak I am. Now, I won't give a full criticism or anything but I will say this.
When you're done watching Jurassic World, screw Terminator Genisys, go and see Inside Out, it's an amazing movie with a great story and all that good stuff. I will warn you, for a Pixar film, it gets pretty sad at times. So, keep that in mind... Also bring tissues.
When the subject of free speech is brought up in defense of a statement, it's often said that free speech is only free if there are no restrictions whatsoever; that all lines are arbitrary, and so none should be drawn. This is naive. There is a line; exactly one line, and it is anything but arbitrary. And that is the line between free speech and violent threat.
So I'm going through each chapter and attempting to clean things up.
I'll also be addressing that one discrepancy in chapter 10, so far I've edited until chapter 7.
Also I am working on Luna's speech pattern. Please help me out and let me know if I'm doing a good job, what I should change, or if I should go back to the way I had it.
So, just in case you hadn't heard, the EU will be voting on the controversial and potentially dangerous Article 13 on 12 September. In case you don't remember from the last time this was an issue, this would require platforms to screen and remove copyrighted material from their pages. As you might guess, this would be an absolute travesty for fan culture at large. Worse still, it could very easily turn into a machine for censoring or suppressing speech on the Internet. So please, if you're in
It's been three years since I last attempted to give writing advice. Now that I've had time to lick my wounds, here we go again!
First off, we need to be a little bit pedantic here. According to Dictionary.com, vernacular means expressed or written in the native language of a place, as literary works, and I'm going to be applying it to much, much more.
Hey folks! Two quick things about my latest story. First, thanks for helping it make the Featured list!
Second, it seems some folks are having trouble with the text-to-speech function due to Death's use of SmallCap text for dialogue. I can't really go back and rework it, but I'm sure you can find an alternative way. Still, my apologies for any inconvenience.
