Thank you for fighting to keep us safe.
Three day weekends are always the best. My mother got out of the hospital this most recent Wednesday, and so I've been spending this weekend hanging around with her and helping her get use to the lifestyle that comes with a loss of limb. She's been staying with me and will probably stay longer than planned, which I kind of expected.
"On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month..."
On this day, we celebrate, not only the end of World War I, but the accomplishments of the many veterans of our armed forces. Whatever name one might recognize it by - Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, Veterans Day - we acknowledge the sacrifices of those who gave their todays to ensure our tomorrows.
This Veterans Day may be especially hard on some veterans because of recent tragic events in Afghanistan. If you have veterans in your life, especially combat veterans or those whose fellow soldiers saw combat, please reach out. You don't even need to talk about anything serious if that's not something they need - just be there.
(Jk) if you feel like wearing a santa hat, that's fine, too. I'm just gonna wait until after Thanksgiving.
Mmh! ALSO, happy Veteran's day.
Howdy folks,
Most years I write a reflection on Veterans Day (Remembrance Day in many countries). This year, I regretfully do not have time. Instead, I would like to issue a simple call to action:
Charities are hit hard by COVID. Veterans charities are suffering right now. That means veterans are suffering. Men and women coming home from war often need help for any number of reasons, ranging from a lack of employment to dealing with post traumatic stress or physical disabilities.
A big thanks to all in the military, air force and navy! Thank you all for your service!!
I salute all the men and women who have served our country
For those of us in the USA, today is Memorial Day, which means that we take the day to respect and remember our living and dead veterans. The dead veterans that fought in wars were people just like you and I; they had plans for the future, dreams and goals... But they sacrificed those things to allow others that they didn't even know to have their own. They left their families, their
Humans are imperfect beings. Yet, we strive to improve, both ourselves and those around us. We try to make the world better. We sacrifice for each other. In a word, we love each other.
The most heroic act of love we can conceive is to lay down one’s life for another, whether that be in the sense of dying to self in living sacrifice for another, or in giving one’s life to protect another.
1) To all who care, Happy Verterans Day! Seriously, HONOR THE VERTERANS. There's websites where you can email or write letters or even donate money to medical services. All across the world brave men and woman have fought for us, let's remember them!
2) my page is under construction... And right now it looks really bad so... Wait and see!
3) I'm obsessed with my oc, so I'll follow this trend too...
I had a lovely time with Admiral Biscuit at the airport and this weekend as well as the rest of my friends.
We made a Combat Medic veteran's convention as well.
