A stallion is out climbing the mountains north of the Crystal Empire. When the glacier he and his companion are on cracks, he finds himself trapped deep within an icy crevasse, where hunger, sleep deprivation, and the bitter cold wear on his body and mind.

What does it mean to be the most powerful unicorn in Ponyville, maybe even in the whole of Equestria? When you can fix everything with magic, what do you do when everypony expects you to do just that? Are there limits to what Twilight´s magic can do, and what lies beyond those limits?

I tried a slightly different interpretation of CelestAI here, as having those emotions that people like to give her, but still being a cold and uncaring paperclipper AI on the inside. It's the one I've been using for my community-based rewrite of the original (based off our RP on the Discord), so I hope people like it. A mysterious plague has swept through Equestria, turning its population into magical zombies. With magic having suddenly vanished as well, it is up to a group of survivors, including Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash, to discover the infection's origin and find a way to put an end to the nightmare.

During a sleepover at Apple Bloom's, the Cutie Mark Crusaders search for their talents inside a book of scary stories. Their appetite for horror leads them into a horrifying position: home alone with the creaking steps of an unknown intruder.

I dream of her again. Her legs are too long.

She doesn't look at me. Filthy water runs from her mane and tail into nothingness. Her back faces me and she stands far away but not far enough to hide the choking stench of rot. Then she speaks to me.

“You are lost, little one,” she says in inharmonic voices empty of life or love. “Please let me help you.”

I do not want her help but I don’t speak. I feel her breath on the back of my neck. I am filled with dread. She still doesn’t face me. Why doesn’t she face me?

When I wake, my bones ache and the smell of her salty decay is stagnant in the cold night air.

After losing control of the Alicorn Amulet, the Elements of Harmony sealed Trixie inside an obsidian statue. She didn't refuse. She didn't fight back. Trixie gladly accepted her penance in order to keep her friends safe from her own demons.

But some things come back, even if they shouldn't.

Now Trixie has to figure out her own position in the great scheme. Yet as she does so, she will also have to protect her friends, and she doesn't know if she's strong enough.

A strange book written in a script not linked to any known language is given to Moon Dancer by a mysterious stallion with dark spectacles and a charming smile. Wary of what lay within yet curious nonetheless, Moon Dancer enlists the aid of her old friend Twilight Sparkle in deciphering the script and unlocking the truth behind the book's origins.

What follows is a detailed account of the endeavor and its tragic and terrifying conclusion, penned by the broken mare who survived to tell the tale.
