In the days leading up to the annual Summer Sun Celebration, Discord finds himself without anypony to mess with- they're all simply too busy with preparations. Overhearing some gossip, Discord finds out about the Element of Laughter's rumored 'fourth wall' breaking abilities- whatever that means.
In pursuing those rumors, Discord will inadvertantly create: the sport of Hoofball, the 'Summer Sunbowl' game between the Canterlot Crusaders and the Crystal Empire Knights, and a rivalry that will last throughout the ages!
Way too long!
Maybe make it into shorter chapters?
2814802 Actually, this is a little below my average chapter word count!
But yeah, I think I could do that.

2816020 More? I may be able to hook you up... If I knew how in the hell that would work.
This was a fun read! hope to see more of your work!
That was....SO AWESOME!! I loved reading it! Keep up the great work!
2816263 2816452 Thanks! I don't think it was as good as it could have been, but meh. That's what I get for only devoting a day to it.
Write more pony sports! They're the only kind I don't get bored of!
only think that surprise me why didn't Spike get big on greed for diamonds
2828303 Meh. Too lazy to explain how he'd get back to normal.
Didn't even read, have a like.
2979308 Dude. Rude.
The moment Spike take the ball and make the run for touchdown, I can't help but imagine him in a red and white uniform with the number 21, a helmet with a green-tinted eyeshield and green aura all over his body.

3027973 That does indeed look like Spike!
I was really hoping that somehow, midway through the game, they would lose all the balls, and somehow have no choice but to use cadence as the ball. Even so, this is an excellent story, and probably the first foot - i mean, hoofball game I've ever been genuinely interested in.
3125539 Thanks so much, it's appreciated!
That was hilarious.
So did Luna's touchdown count as a point for the Crusaders then? Because I was hoping that a technicality in the rules would mean that Luna, as her own team, would be declared the winner.
3141786 It did indeed count for the Crusaders! After all, she took the ball into the Knights endzone.
Thanks for the fav!
I normally don't even like football, but I liked this story. Good job.
First person to comment on this story in years, but I enjoyed it. There needs to be more hoofball stories and sports stories in general on here.
