Vinyl got off on the wrong foot when she met Octavia's mom for the first time. And man, that was a shit storm. Octavia and her mother didn't talk for over the course of a year, so seeing her again, let alone talking to her, is gonna be a pain in the breast.

Wow. That was... Wow. I have to say though, if Vinyl really needed a reality check because she got bored in a supermarket, she needs some help. For some reason I thought of Vinyl wearing one of those children's monkey backpacks, where the tail of the monkey acts like a leash for the parent to hold on to while the child wears the backpack, running fruitlessly in place while Octavia holds the leash with a nonchalant face while they shop. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN. Oh well, this story was still cute and heartwarming as shit

I like to think of Octavia as the mature one in their relationship, aka the backbone, while Vinyl likes to fool around and be a
childish dickkid instead of the age she is (I'd say she's around her mid-twenties, right? Same for Octavia).Don't worry, though. Octavia will have her childish moments later on in the story, maybe in the next update. Not entirely sure as of now.

I see Octavia as a gateway for her mother, aka Lidia, to live her life through her, since she was unable to until she hit her mid-thirties.
By using Octavia to get the fame she'd so lusted after, she'd then find her useless, but since she's stuck with her (trust me, this story gets heated. I've just had writer's block for a really long time.) there's not much to do with her now.
But if you look at it from a musicians POV, Octavia would be the puppet, and her mum the puppeteer. Miss Von Clef is controlling her every move from when she was a child, to a little after she had gone and lived on her own. The only reason Lidia's back is to rid Octavia of Vinyl, whether it be through manipulation, or by straight-up saying it..
From the first story, you could tell Lidia was against Octavia having a girlfriend, and being a lesbian, and to remain famous and not jeopardize it, she feels she has to get rid of Vinyl.

When this happens, she will be hatred, sad, and alone. This will drive her insane. Finally when she is begging me for a quick death I will torture her by cutting her chest open and I will break each rip, one by one until she is unable to make complete words, then I will slowly pour salt on her. Each one of her screams will only fill me with joy as I burn her while she is barely alive while s**ting all over her ashes in an ally way. Then I will have my vengeance. Don't F**k with love!
