Nyx-E-Stix

Thank you for all the support, the ride has been nice <3

Before the Humane 6's monthly sleepover, Applejack suggests that they should all try horseback riding. Sunset is less than eager to do this, but she tries it anyway. I mean, how hard can it be for an ex-pony to ride a horse in this world? Right?
....right?

This is a one-shot. The Twilight in this story is the human universe Twilight, "Sci Twi"
Takes place in the Dagifire timeline.

"In my defense, I swear it called me flatter than it was," Rainbow motioned to her chest as the other girls laughed over the memory.

I hereby dub Rainbow Dash: Flatty McFlatflat.

6631986 A flat chest is a status symbol.

Hilarious XD

'It isn't the first new thing I've tried. I mean, I tried walking on two feet, figuring out fingers, riding a motorcycle, becoming a she-demon, becoming a goddess-like being, and worst of all bras. I can handle this.'

Sunset Sunset... haven't you learned already? Only Pinkie can tempt fate like that and go unscathed. :ajsmug:

As a former student of Celestia, you think she would xD

Aww i was hoping to see a little bit more past Sunset's outburst.

A good story leaves you wanting more. And maybe someday getting more.

Poor Sunset. I think Midnight enjoyed the ride more than she did.

That cover art, though! Had me rolling on the floor laughing!

That... wasn't very good.

The ending made little sense while the meat of the story was pretty bare bones.

In fact it just makes Sunset look like a whiny bitch just because it wore her out. And that's after you clearly spent most of the story trying to make it look like she would have a different reason.

You had a good idea but your execution was sloppy, making this a pretty low-grade story overall.

7454300 Well, it was my second fanfic ever, I'm slowly improving. Thanks for the constructive criticism!

Didn't have to be so shitty about it, tbh. S'like telling someone who's barely starting to draw that their art looks like absolute trash when they have 0 experience. T'was all in good fun, yo. Could'a been more helpful than hindering. Let people learn from their mistakes, not feel bad for trying.
And hey maybe you were being nice about it. Then my bad. I apologize. My bad for being edgy. But still
Just have a little fun about it. Was meant for a laugh; it was an experimental one-shot and not for much else.
Chill <3

Ugh.
Thanks though

7502073 I was being nice about it, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be harsh.

The very fact I commented at all is proof that I actually enjoyed the story enough to care about giving critique.

Besides, pointing out mistakes now should help prevent the author developing any bad habits which will lead to them being an even better author down the line.

You've got a point. I'm just an overprotective lug over Nyxxie here. I don't want her confidence going down the toilet. I know criticism can be hard sometimes, and evidently taken the wrong way. I apologize for the mix-up in intention. Blehhh.

Rainbow ran to one stable marked "Firefly". Rarity strode to "Glory", Fluttershy shuffled to "Posey", Pinkie Pie skipped to "Surprise",

The G1 ponies have returned! Kinda....

7617825 THANK YOU FOR NOTICING

7618048 I couldn't have been the only one.

Seems you are actually, at least of those who commented.

I love the cover art.

Looks like something tells me that Sunset might need some riding lessons.

"That's because you made us play a drinking game and punched a hole in your wall," Fluttershy's barely audible voice spoke.

Yeah, I can see why now.

And with that, the girls said their byes and went to their separate classes. Sunset walked to her advanced algebra class slowly, pondering her situation. 'It isn't the first new thing I've tried. I mean, I tried walking on two feet, figuring out fingers, riding a motorcycle, becoming a she-demon, becoming a goddess-like being, and worst of all bras. I can handle this.' She forced herself to perk up, sighing and running to class before she was late.

How am I not surprised at about that last part.

Sunset approached the horse, looking at the mess of equipment on it. She stepped into the stirrup, hoisting herself up only to fall back into the dirt and hay. She dusted herself off, trying again. Sunset was able to make it into the saddle, this time landing awkwardly in the seat.

Oofity

The mare reared up on her back legs, Sunset screaming like the first time she saw a changeling. As soon as Midnight's full weight hit the floor again, the horse took off at full speed. Celestia's former prized pupil had absolutely no idea what to do. She was up the creek without a paddle, as Applejack often said. She yanked on Midnight's reins out of pure panic, causing the mare to startle and rear yet again. Only this time, Sunset didn't have a firm placement on the saddle. The flame-haired girl fell backwards off the tall equine, right onto the hard dirt ground. The wind knocked out of her as she hit the ground, her head knocking into hard surface. She groaned and stayed still, hearing Midnight's hooves trot away. Everything was quiet for a second before she heard Twilight's voice. It was faint at first, but quickly increased volume as the pseudo-scientist got closer. Sunset looked up at her girlfriend, gently grabbing Twilight's hand to try to reassure her that she was fine. Sunset's breath came back to her slowly, mumbling out mild words of comfort to the nerdy girl she called Twily. It didn't last long as her friends came to her aid quickly, taking her inside to help her recuperate.

Dang, that must of hurt.

'Well, at least one good thing came of this.' the flame-haired girl thought to herself, smiling at a sleepy Twilight.

Yep, it sure did.

"NO!!"

Figured that's be her response. :ajsmug:
