Short Stories

E

For the last test of the school year, Twilight receives a C.

It ultimately ruins her perfect 4.0 average she's been holding ever since kindergarten.

The lengths she goes to to fix this problem are--well, let's just say she should have stuck with the C.

Sunset: Oh Mr. Doodle, do you remember the Friendship Games and how Twilight turned into Miss Woe Is Me, I Have Become Destroyer of Worlds? Did you see how hysterical she was about getting a C? Do you really want to risk her destroying the world and succeeding this time?

Problem solved.

Oh god! How are they going do that? :rainbowlaugh:

I know Twilight's feelings....

I've been through it...... I enter this fandom ever since to make me happy...

The answer is simple my young Sparkle Horse/Princess,

"No." The farmpony said, giving Twilight a brief second of shock.

You should replace farmpony with farm girl.

I guess Twilight is a C Student!.... I'll go home now. :twilightsheepish: *walks out slowly*

7347167 Oh, I like that series. :D Penny's adorable. :3

7353596 I should have it out by this weekend! 2,284 words so far and I'm almost done. :pinkiehappy:

Hey, this is better than the original. :yay: Now that's Loyalty.

Oh, and Cranky is a freaking jerk.

If I was there, I would beat Crancky to a bloody pulp.

Can you make Cranky suffer? I want to see Cranky suffer!! :flutterrage:

I remember reading this. I can't remember why I didn't add it to any of my lists.

:rainbowlaugh: I'll make him nicer in the next chapter. XD

But, imagine it from his point of view: he has three days to get more than 100 late assignments in to his supervisors [or wherever teachers turn them in], so he's already pretty stressed out enough. Then, seven girls come in, trying to manipulate him in different ways to get this one student [that he doesn't care about at the moment; not to sound mean or anything, of course] a re-take on a test, even though he's already told all of them that she can't b/c he's not taking late assignments any more, yet they keep trying, putting more and more stress on him with each attempt.

That, and he's had a stressful day already with similar situations.

I don't know about you, but I'd start to snap after "Plan D".

But, if that still doesn't convince you to not beat him up, remember what he literally is in the Pony-verse. :trollestia: :moustache:

:facehoof: I'm sorry. Yeah, I'll definitely make him nicer in the next chapter. :scootangel:

You're right, he's a donkey. So... :rainbowlaugh:

Ha, I completely forgot about this fic, funny to see you take my suggestion from way back then.

To be fair, this approach was... I'm not sure whether to go with 'stupid', 'self-centered', or 'oblivious'. Cranky may fit his name, but he seems to be doing his job in teaching the material: he's testing, grading the tests accurately so students know what to work on, and providing opportunities for them to do so when he has the time. If Twilight had asked for tips on how she could explain what she knows about quantum mechanics, I see no evidence he wouldn't have at least tried to spare some effort. Granted, that wouldn't have helped her grade... but if Twilight was that dedicated to ensuring she kept straight 'A's through high school she really should have made sure to earn a protective amount of extra credit points as soon as she transferred into CHS (or at the beginning of the school year if that wasn't this year). And given the flow of these encounters (Twilight turns in a test and leaves questions asking her to explain something blank, Twilight is satisfied with this until receiving graded test and panicking, Twilight raises alarm about the point value of the blank answers rather than the answers being blank...) Twilight is kind of accidentally demeaning Cranky's work by implying she shouldn't need to be able to explain or teach something she understands. Sure, right now she's being too neurotic to notice or care, but you'd expect at least one of her friends to be capable of empathizing with the other party involved. It's a bad way to open when you're asking for a favor.
