I think you wrote the last few paragraphs, Cinabunnywulf. There's this kind of incoherent coherent ADD vibe that permeates Supohr Trampoling's writing, but those last few paragraphs are bereft of much of that. Like, they're more coherent. Less ADD. Yeah, pretty sure you wrote those parts solely by yourself. Just going by gut instinct I think I can tell the difference Trampoline's writer's voice and another's? Maybe?
Does Ember share a cutie mark with Toola-Roola? Pretty sure that's a triskellion. If so, I think we can make an educated guess what Toola's special talent is :P

That certainly would be interesting, especially with your writing style. It has my vote! (for what it is worth)
One thing does come to mind though (hopefully I do not come across as a pretensions areshole):
A transformation into a changeling would seem like an obvious choice given how most English translations use some variant of the word "bug" to describe Mr Samsa's transformation, but the German word, Ungeziefer, is a bit more general and nonspecific (perhaps a native speaker could shed some light on the connotations?). "Vermin" would be a better translation, but even then it does not really convey the loathsome ickiness of the word.
In MLP, to get a better feel for the flavour of the word and all its connotations of disgust (and to take the Metamorphosis adaptation in a fresh, new direction), imagine how Rarity would feel if Sweetie Belle was transformed into a Diamond Dog...
