There absolutely no way this doesn't come back to bite Filthy(and by extension, Rarity) in the ass. Sweetie is gonna figure out that she was paid off instead of being trusted with a secret(and a terrible one at that) and it's gonna eat away at her until she eventually blabs it to someone at which point the shit will really hit the fan
I know that Sweetie Bell was basically bribed, and that is a bad thing, but that doesn't make Rich's advice any less true.
People need to know that you can be relied upon in any contract, be it simply business or true love. I'm just not sure if this is the right way to teach that lession.

I really like that you saw the validity of his advice.
I get the feeling that Rich is a pony with good intentions at heart, but doesn't always execute them in the best way. He thinks he has a great grasp on relationships and what makes ponies tick, but he really *only* understands the world as it relates to business. Unfortunately, that sometimes doesn't translate well into other aspects of his life. But he doesn't realize that.

I think you can expand this into a really neat story. Maybe, Sweetie learns what it means to trust a secret when she’ll see how things happened with that secret and as well maybe find a way to get Spoiled Rich out of the life?

If Rich and Spoiled decided to have a convenience marriage, it was their choice. Problem is, Tiara herself never had a say about living in a loveless home.
Also, Rarity should realize Filthy values her social position and repectability more than her, and decide if their relationship is worth the cost.
I don't blame Filthy for looking for a better mare to be romantically involved with, considering what Spoiled is like. But odds are the more he does this, the more Spoiled is gonna start to suspect something. To say nothing of Sweetie Belle when she learns why he really gave her the bits.
this hits a little hard in the reality department. Well done.
