A little in at least the beginning premise is inspired by that but there's other shows or games or sources of entertainment that helped bring ideas to this story. It is not a cross over though, Spike is not going to have robotic fists or jet bike that he can make out of his arms.
Im taking a guess here that the name of the suit Discord made is called the Dragon or Drake class.

Not the goal. I will say he will end up in situations but i feel it would be better to make a side story that fills in those details instead of on the main one.

Well when all that keeps you from dying is a suit that can fail things happen. Plus ptsd from Fluttershy's side and AJ keeps going back into the suit.
It would make sense that standard A.I's can't handle all the processing power that Discords suit needs they are limit but an A'i made from a living brain can adapt to it.
i like it, i dont like the part with all the girls having some lost limbs but other then that i like it

Well figured if you want to have the effect of "This is a deadly job." Limb loss or other marks are needed. But also mind this is a future setting so there are some people who did it for an advantage.
