Ooh! Great development for the story. We've gone far beyond Silver Stream and Smolder being a mother and daughter bond for comfort. Now we're to a point where Silver Stream feels super comfortable and delighted in being a 'mom' and Smolder likes knowing she can truly and deeply put all her trust in some creature. This would definitely take time, especially for Smolder, but you wrote the series with that amount of time needed well in mind.
Sky Star would definitely be as you wrote her here. I always felt that Silver Stream was a way to bring Sky Star to the show without having to pay for the celebrity voice actor / make a voice for her that didn't match the show.
This continues my feelings on how this tale has gone into the realm of "Dear Princess Celestia" for both silver Stream and Smolder. I doubt Smolder would ever write Ember, or any dragon, about this. However both are really learning a lot through these times together. It's certainly a very deep friendship where you are able to role play as personas that can't come out in the public eye. These are also 'safe' role plays that do nothing more than strengthen the bond between a hippogriff and dragon.
If Smolder, one day, became Dragon Lord. I'd imagine she'd start to build relations with Mt. Aeris and Seaquestria while working to stomp out a lot of dragon stereotypes. I bet she'd be pleasantly surprised to see how not every dragon likes sleeping on rocks, being kicked out of their homes during molting, etc.
It would then be neat to see what happens if Silver Stream becomes a mom. Would she want Smolder to come see her child? Would they talk about how the 'learning through doing' at such a close level made it so Silver Stream was the best mom ever to any griff? Maybe Silver Stream would even start up a hippogriff day care for as much as she loves knowing she can be a caring and nurturing griff?
