With Celestia and Luna having finally retired and passed on the throne to Twilight, the weight of Equestria has fallen on Twilight's back, and without her friends there by her side, doubts and fears haunt her, leaving her restless and anxious.
But maybe all she needs is a friend to be there with her and tell her it will be alright.

I won't rule out a sequel, but as of right now it's not planned. If I do write a sequel it might be a bit. My life is rather hectic right now and I have other priorities. Hope you understand!

Good story and very sweet. Wish there was more of it, but I wish that about most of the stories I read on this site. Especially the Twidash, so nothing new there. Would love to see a sequel but I can be patient about it.

I did consider having a scene with them dreaming (and it would have had more romance to it), but I ended up deciding against it because I felt like it was at a good point to stop (and that writing more would detract from the story). I'm not that great when it comes to writing endings; I need to practice more.
Pinkie would do a great job running the country.
Now I really want to read a story where Pinkie rules Equestria, and her enemies try to bring her down, but fail hilariously.
This story hit home pretty hard for me when I read it. Yesterday I had full on panic attack. No idea what triggered it, I just know that it had been slowly building up to that point. Luckily when it hit, my husband had just gotten home from work and was able to calm me down. I very much enjoyed this story.
