Yeah. I actually remember it was written somewhere that when they first met Starlight, she was trying to act older and look older(the reason for the Mane style) then she actually was.
Which actually fits with her backstory because she even says she got tired of her father treating her like a little filly.
How often do teenagers wish that their parents would not treat them likes kids? (Enhanced by what looks like a Goth phase she was going through) Resulting in them acting out and making dumb decisions.
Then Starlight finally started acting her age after getting to know somepony who understands her (Twilight) Kind of not only adopting her as a mentor, but also an older sister.
A rather interesting premise for a story, the kind that always makes me wonder how is the human gonna get back. Though it was a little too fast-paced at times and there were some grammatical hiccups as well (inconsistent tense use, mixed up your/you’re, etc.). So, some more TLC would be required to make the story truly shine :)
