Out of all the things he’d seen on the battlefields of this war torn world… he’d found the AC, the Armored Core to be the true dominant force.
Upon being denied what was rightfully hers, Sunset chose to leave her mentor's side and chart her own path towards her destiny. She believed that the the Mirror Portal would lead her on the path necessary towards her ascension into an Alicorn. Instead it lead her to a world scarred by a war between corporations, resistance factions and warlords. And at the forefront of these battles, were the machines known as Armored Cores.
Why does this quote is eerily similar of the Titans from the Titanfall Series?
Damnit, Sunset!

Hehehe...sunset used o be like that and so far this is the first armored core story that I have found that has anyone coming over to that universe and not the other way around...gota say this is a good story so far
11501435
I know what Sunset was like, I'm dreading that she shouldn't mess with something that is a literal WAR MACHINE, they ain't toys.
I just don't want her to end up as a cold blooded, heartless, remorseless, killing psychopath.
( I seen the Main 7 tag? Does the human versions of the Mane Six exist in this Armored Core world now? And does Sunset still want Twilight's Elemental Crown, thus our Pony Twilight and Dragon Spike eventually show up to the bloody war torn world? )
11501457
I mean..would not put it past her to mess with somthing like those in Canon before the rainbow boom
11500464
Probably because Armoured Core was a major inspiration for Titanfall.
WOO!
Another one!
Sunset, you have no idea of what you gotten yourself into.
Especially wanting to be a Armored Core Raven Mercenary, oh please!
Onto another topic; The introduction of Applejack, Apple Bloom, and Rarity. And seems like Big Mac is possibly somewhere else, or sadly been killed.
Really!?
Sister? Don't you mean Sisters? The Dazzlings are a Trio after all.
You will regret thinking that way. This is a much violent world than that "High School Musical/Drama ripoff" setting that was Equestria Girls.
And pissing off the wrong person, or faction/group will easily get you a bounty on yourself, get tortured, and get brutally killed.
Why do the AC Pilots/Mercenaries call themselves Ravens as their code names? I don't really understand the "Raven" name relation to the Armored Core Mechs and their pilots?
I'm just introduced to this AC franchise. So that's why I'm asking this question.
You have no idea!
And I'm actually surprised of your chilling dude personality, "Noble Six"?
IF Sunset have bothered/provoked a different Raven Pilot who has anger issues, or has killer tendencies. She will easily get beat up, or worse, killed.
On another note. Surprised that Fluttershy and Trixie are Raven Pilots/Mercenaries themselves? Didn't see that coming! And what did Zephyr Breeze do this time to get himself in prison?
And I got another personal question for the setting, author;
I just recently learned that the AC Franchise got multiple different "Universes" or Timelines for each game. ( Reminds me of Ace Combat/Project Wingman, Call of Duty, Gundam, Doom, Wolfenstein, Sniper Elite, Command and Conquer, Devil May Cry, JoJo, Dragon Ball, and Yu-Gi-Oh on the multiple alternate timeline continuities. )
And so far, Armored Core franchise has four ( "Original" Timeline for the first two main games. AC3 Timeline, AC4 Timeline, and AC5/ACV Timeline. ), so which one is Sunset in?

In order of your questions
Aria
Concerning Aria's mention of sister instead of Sisters the reason is very simple. She's only with one of them right now. Whether it means one is either missing or dead is currently up for debate.
Raven
Ravens is a collective term used to describe the Mercenary AC pilots as a whole. Why is something I personally never figured out so I can't give an honest answer but I can give you a half-assed answer by saying it depends on the setting. Still there is a moment in Verdict day that describes a particular individual known as the Dark Raven that helps me get a slightly more thought out idea on why.
If I'm to use this as a reference of sorts than the title Raven is based on the memory of this individual. A harbinger of death that leaves behind nothing but destruction. Those that witness the destructive capacity of such a person brings forth that image of a Dark Raven in legend. If that's the case perhaps the title was like something that got passed around by survivers, and it just sort of stuck with the mercenaries like a badge of sorts.
Course thats just a possibility, or me just talking out my ass.
Fluttershy and Zephyr
Fluttershy being a Raven was honesty supposed to just be something that comes out of left field. I know theres stories about badass Rainbow Dash and Twilight the like but I never really found and about Badass Fluttershy so I figured why now bring her in as one.
As for Zephyr... well let's leave that to your imagination for now.
AC Universe
While I want to say its set in a custom setting, I have to admit that it's mostly set sometime in the universe of either Armored Core 4 or Armored Core 5 as KOJIMA Particles exist in both universes.

Thanks for answering.
11503819
Ah..that answers a lot if things since the only armored core game I have ever played was armored core: for answer

I don't know the reason in-universe, but historically ravens come up quite often in European mythology. And those myths are often very similar.
Odin had two ravens, called thought and memory, that perched on his helmet and whispered secrets to him. They also aided in his hunts.
In Celtic mythology, they were associated with the Morrigan, the goddess of death and magic, and would ferry the souls of those who died in battle to her.
Basically, ravens are associated with death, war and secrets, which works nicely with the way the mercenary pilots of the ACs operate.
There's also Raven's Nest, the home of the mercenary pilots... Which is likely a reference to the Tower of London and the myth that states that should the ravens ever flee the Tower, it is a sure sign of the apocalypse.
The destruction of Raven's Nest is a major plot point in AC4... Which ends with the destruction of the Cradles, and thus the end of civilisation, via orbital bombardment.

So in AC4, human civilization died!?
Ok, I have got to ask is this story set in Armored Core 6 or one of the older titles or is this an original with elements of Armored Core thrown in?
11504007
Speaking about that particular game. I know that game has three endings, and all of them are bleak, and sour. No happy ending for anybody.
I just hope that Sunset ( Even IF she somehow got the Raven Pilot Job!? ) wouldn't do what Old King did. And decided to kill over f***ing 100 Million lives to ashes!!!!!?????
Now to the author. Since Armored Core 6/Vl is recently came out. Will you come back to this?
11687161
Yea....but one of the endings killed most people in the cradles that where in the only area of earth up in the skies that where not absolutely filled with pollution....but in return you use the power of the cradles to destroy the defense net covering all of the world from space so humanity could finally friggin leave for other planets since anything that got high enough was shot down by that defense net....another ending was keeping that from happening cause the corporations where more concerned about the cradles where all the "high class" people resided and the third one was just murder every good pilot from both sides of that conflict...atleast that's the endings for all three as far as I remember
11687689
Thanks for the clarification. And just for Sunset's sake.
I hope she doesn't do any messed up atrocities like that.
Otherwise, she won't be forgiven or redeemed by the time Twilight and Spike somehow get over here.
11687693
....i.....you know not all of these kinds of stories where sunset ends up in a world ruled by humans she goes back right?
Cause there is stories like the one where she went into the RWBY universe a few years before that series season one in a canterlot high where ozpin has the winter magic user as far as I can see....anything else I say about that story would be a spoiler other than it's name
Wich is SAPR....you won't know what the name means unless you know the rwby naming schemes for the huntress teams
11688117
I actually do recognize that particular all RWBY crossover you mentioned.
All I'm saying, is that Celestia will eventually want to make a amends with Sunset. And will possibly have Pony Twilight and her friends to find Sunset. Although, they'll be in a very rude awakening, once they go to the very bloody war-torn alternate Earth of the Armored Core Franchise.
That is if the author wants to incorporate returning to Equestria later on.
11688140
True.....but that's probably going to be a WHILE down the line....considering she has to earn a AC or something for the story line to actually progress a bit....atleast I think so...?
Been watching vids on the new armored core btw...it looks awesome and there are better weapons and enemies than in for answer...including a bazooka that is also a cluster bomb for some reason?
11688157
What's with the multiple ... ?
11688396
Cause....I....duno...was really tired when I sent that
I'm not super familiar with the AC franchise but this story has my attention.
Ooh, good to see this is still kicking.
Oh boy...this is gona get real bad real quick...I can feel it in my gut.
...oh dear☸
Woo!
The plot thickens!
