Pinkie Pie's planned a provocative piece, an exhibitionism exhibit. A public stocks, free for anyone to use. The point isn't expecting anyone to really use them: The point is making you think about it. And gosh, do her friends think about it.
Standing this close to the stockades, now, Rarity could watch herself swirl her champagne. Just a tilt of her head, the right perspective, and she could see how she’d look in them without having to commit. It wouldn’t be the first time she’d been caught trying on outfits she couldn’t afford.
What a fantastic double entendre. Like, "stop reading and think about that line for a moment" level of good. The introspections of the characters is soooooo well written as well! And the entire idea of the art exhibit is genuinely thought provoking even outside of the context of the story. Its easy to imagine standing there, looking at this open-ended question that you're answering in your own head.
Wondering *What if...* as you stare at your reflection in the window, just barely overlapping your own image with that item behind the glass. But the glass isn't a physical barrier, its just a psychological one.
This is an excellent, excellent take on Rarity.

I know, right? I have not seen many better takes, or many nearly as good as this one. What a solid handle.
This story is far better than I was expecting it to be when I first started reading it. This is high quality, good stuff.

Really thought-provoking.
It's... how is thinking about all this being so fascinating? Which is the point of the art of course.
