YEAHHHHH I remember this one! It was a good read during the contest and I just gave it a quick reread and it was pretty much as good as I remembered it being! The emotional beats are done well, you can practically feel the pain in the end there. A good, kind of bittersweet ending. Very nicely done Silver :D

This was a great exploration of Jasmine's feelings after Sweet's passing. It's nice that she seems like she'll recover a bit at the end.

Thank you! Mourning is something that doesn't quite ever end and it's difficult to handle, as not everyone feels the same. I feel like here, Jasmine had the colour drained for her life and on what she could consider the hardest day of her life, had a little bit of it restored.

It was hard, walking around Ponyville in the bright morning sun, the usually merry and bubbly tea pony no longer smiled like before. She returned the waves and smiles of her fellow ponies and friends, but while before she’d do so cheerfully and gladly, now she did it just not to be rude.

oof, and knowing Ponyville ponies, she must have to do this a lot!

Walking over to the counter, Jasmine saw the teacup she had had on it for a year today. “Hello, Biscuit,” she said as she got behind the counter and fetched her apron, wrapping it around herself. “I slept okay, I had another dream about you.” Jasmine retold the dream with a palpable bittersweetness in her voice. “It was really nice.”

augh, this one really gets me. i'm imagining that mug having being left there by Sweet Biscuit, and now, how could Jasmine Leaf possibly move it? that would be destroying this symbol of Sweet Biscuit's physical mark on the world, and so of course the symbol ends up standing in for her in this little routine. such a small thing with such bittersweet tragedy in it, auaugh

Especially nowadays with talks of Jasmine, ‘the pony who talks to the teacup’.

oof, love this epithet. so small, yet says so much

It was then that Jasmine knew that everything would be okay; for her lover may be gone, but she wasn’t alone.

augh, what a lovely, bittersweet ending! really brings to mind all the stories i hear from people mourning their loved ones that see a message of love from them in events that seem too spooky to be a mere coĂŻncidence, even for those who do not believe in such supernatural things at all. and this one just encapsulates that idea so well, with the calm and peace such a message gives to the mourner.

wonderful stuff, Silver. thank you for writing!

It felt like a dream. Here, Jasmine felt like she was where she belonged: Eternally in her beloved's embrace. Basking in each other’s warmth, doting each other's brows in tender pecks, filling each other's ears with soft, playful giggles.

augh, what a lovely and tender bit of fluff! this part really has the idea down. i would want nothing more than to just be nestled in the warmth of their love forever, in this timeless moment of quiet intimacy. so of course, all this was just to give me something beautiful and precious to grow attached to just so that i can be destroyed all the better in the next chapter, right? i saw the title, Silver! i saw the tags! you can't do this to me!
