Mockingbirb

A pony of mystery in the darkness. Or I forgot to take the lens cap off. (They/them is fine.)

Fluttershy refuses to give up on Discord.

But what is their relationship really like, behind closed doors? How can she stay with a creature who was born without a conscience, who uses others as playthings and hurts them again and again?

A love triangle in one and a half scenes. (Or is that a lie too?)

Fluttercord Week 2022: This story might celebrate Day Seven of #FluttercordWeek2022: (Free Space), but it isn't officially for Day Thirteen: Stars, because I don't want to wait that long to celebrate the amazingness and flexibility of the Fluttercord ship, and how many different ways there are to imagine it!

Day Seven: Saturday January 25th 2020

Let’s end this awesome week with a freebie. Write whatever you want as long as it’s Fluttercord related and as long as it’s appropriate within the G-PG rating.

I can't say this is to my taste or how I see the characters, but I feel like you knew that coming into this, because this was incredibly well-written in terms of pacing, with a lot of poetic elements tied in.

And you did say you find fluttercord to be a flexible ship, so I don't think this story isn't enjoyable, by any means. The star metaphor was certainly written beautifully!

I found this interesting and enjoyable, even if I don't agree with it. Which I think is still saying something quite good about the author's writing. Keep at it!

The Flarity is an interesting if not entirely justified wrinkle, but establishing that ship is outside the scope of this story. I can accept it as part of the price of admission.

As for the Fluttercord... I just hope he doesn't start misbehaving solely so he can be disciplined. That may not end well.

This is like ten different kinds of fucked-up and incredibly well-grounded. The gradual revelations to all the dysfunction at play are all too easy to believe. Good shit.

Oh I hate this.

That being said rather than commenting directly on the story itself, or even directly on Discord and HOW MUCH I DESPISE HIM — it’s a lot — I just want to observe that the potential long-term solution to the Discord problem was given to us already.

The Bewitching Bell.

Take Discord’s powers. Have him live as an actual mortal creature for a while. Give him some context for what it’s like to live day-to-day as an ordinary person. He doesn’t even have to stop being chaotic, he just has to become considerate of the needs and feelings of others. Y’know; like Pinkie Pie manages.

Pinkie Pie wouldn’t have orchestrated the death of someone nor ensured the damnation of three souls as part of an ill-conceived and unneeded plan to boost someone’s confidence.

There’s gotta be a way to kejigger the Bell so that he could have, oh, the same level of power a normal unicorn, rather than the godlike power that feeds directly into his infantile mindset.

It worked wonders for Q. So why not try with Discord?

Pinkie Pie wouldn’t have orchestrated the death of someone nor ensured the damnation of three souls as part of an ill-conceived and unneeded plan to boost someone’s confidence.

To be fair, in other respects it was a really fun party. :pinkiesad2: And ever since then, she's stayed sober!

It's a bit tricky given that if not chaotic enough, he could very well stop existing(the way you're saying it implies it'd last longer than a few days, meaning he'd probably have to be either be chaotic ocassionally or close enough to another doing it, and the instance where he lost his magic was abundant with chaos everywhere, so while not instant, that sort of plan wouldn't be sustainable long term)

Again, my exhibit A is Pinkie Pie, who manages to be chaotic and random without being an inconsiderate, sociopathic, active threat to everyone around her.
