This story is a sequel to Blank
Twilight was stripped of her title and arrested for using a dark "reformation" spell on Discord. Discord is still under the control of the spell, struggling to even think about making his own choices. Fluttershy has taken him in, doing everything she can to free him.
Friendships turn bitter and new ones form. Love blossoms in the darkest of situations. These are both powerful forms of magic...but will they be enough to free Discord and reconnect him with himself? Or will they only push him further into becoming a blank slate?

A great begining, and it seems Dash's personal style was helping a little. Her blunt ess and competitiveness really encouraged his mischief. Too bad it ended how it did, with her not being careful. Poor Discord.
But there is hope! I love his decision to choose to listen to Fluttershy above all others as it truly is proof he's getting better, even if slowly.

Super interested to see how Fluttershy and Discord develop their friendship. There's an uncomfortable codependency here that I'm unsettled by, and I think that might be what you're actually going for? I hope they'll be okay! Sounds like everyone needs a heaping reminder of Friendship Is Magic Actually for things to resolve!

I'm so excited about this sequel, the first chapter it's already amazing and so good, I already can't wait for the next one, and the way you portray twilight in this story is so cool, I've never thought I'll read a fanfic where twilight is the main "villain", makes me wonder is she's going to redeem herself or keep on with her own thoughts, you really made me dislike her because of the the way she treated fluttershy

I was OBSESSED with Blank for like a solid 2 months after it came out. I was straight up dying for a sequel. And you've blessed me with my heart's desire! I could not be happier with this.
It's so good already. Rainbow and Discord hanging out was just SO much fun to read. And goodness, RD's heart's in the right place; I honestly would've consitered telling him the same thing. She's doing her BEST Fluttershy
And TWILIGHT. Golly. GOLLY. She is giving me life. I love how you write her. She SOUNDS pretty villianous and condesending, but I don't think she's trying to be. She's not saying Fluttershy can't help to mock her, but just because she thinks it's a fact. Maybe she really does want to help even, who knows? Either way, I love how she feels very grey and her motivations and thoughts. I'm not real sure what she's thinking and I enjoy that so much.
Also, it's super intresting that we're getting a peak into how Discord sees all of this (we might've gotten that in Blank, but it's been a while since I've read it. I'll have to go back sometime soon!). It's like...extreme short term memory loss with a compulsion to obey orders and a severe dificulty in decision making. Freaking creepy. I LOVE it, and I love how despite all that, some of his personality still shines through. Him being able to destroy Rainbow in Monompoly despite probably not being able to remember what he did 10 minutes ago is so funny, I love it.
I am just so happy for this story, I can't stop smiling. This is going to be EPIC.

What a great prolouge!
This is already one of the best chapters/pieces you've ever written. The pacing, the build-up, the climax, and the resolution... This chapter was a story in itself.
I have very seldom read a single chapter that built up the tension so well, while also providing relief through switching between two scenes.
Honestly, I can't tell which part broke my heart the most. Was it the part with Spike, trying to keep a brave face with his astounding maturity for his age, only for the reader to remember that he's really just a little boy (or dragon, for any reviewers who may feel the need to say 'little boy' sounds too human)? Is it the part when we see just how corrupted Twilight has become by her own spell, since it affected both of them, to the point where even her own parents can't stand to see her anymore, and she doesn't see the magic in friendship? Was it the way Discord suffered, cycle after cycle, trying to perform the one thing he just couldn't do, making his pleasant time with Rainbow into a traumatic nightmare? Or maybe it was Rainbow, saying sorry, with Fluttershy unable to forgive her?
I am actually scared. I'm scared, for Discord, for Fluttershy, for Rainbow. I'm scared for how Twilight's spell has affected more than just Discord's life, though that alone was horrible enough.
But I read your description of the story and how it can break things apart. And Fluttershy just ignored Rainbow's apology. I know that doesn't mean she won't forgive her, and it makes absolute sense why Fluttershy was upset. I don't see it as ooc in the least. Fluttershy is protective of her charges.
...But Fluttershy doesn't do well with guilt. This guilt could become toxic enough to affect her life outside of her mission to help rehabilitate Discord...
...And Twilight’s remarks don't help.

But I have a feeling that love is ultimately going to be what helps him and sending him to someone else, while potentially beneficial, won't get him all the way.

Even though this chapter is shorter it have a lot of interesting good stuff:
1. we see how fluttershy's closure is affecting her and the animals around her in some way
2. We get to see thorax and what happened to he and starlight after the changeling incident.
3. The title might be reference to fluttershy's new feeling.
4. And discord's awake
I like where the story is going and the pase you're giving to it.
And, if I'm correct, I can't wait for the next chapter next week
Yes, I was hoping the Fluttercord would go this path! It is a difficult situation after all; is it possible for Fluttershy to pursue her feelings without inherently taking advantage of Discord? Of course she'd nevertry to do so, but it's not like the mechanics of the spell are fully known. It’s totally possible that he could take any confession as an order to reciprocate, who knows?
But also, just removing herself from Discord is also probably not the best idea. Doesn't she know that separation makes the heart grow fonder?
well rainbow did have a decent idea but it fell flat in practice due to the spell. I wonder if rainbows idea could work if worded diffrent? maby ask discord to give fluttershy the power and information on how to break the spell or something like that. I mean celestia said in the past story that twilights made up excuse was that she did not know what spell it was so if they used discords magic and the spell to scan the spell itself they might be able to do it

But ooh, I love the ethical implications here, once an emotion as strong as love becomes involved. That possibility didn't even cross my mind. While I'm sure that isn't the case, I wonder what it would take to assuage her fear? Discord isn't quite at the stage where he could console her... not at the level she'd need.
Honestly, even I'm not sure how much his true self is aware of all that's happening and what Fluttershy is doing for him. Surely a part of him has to, or else once he reverted to his true self, then it would be back at square one. But you've surprised me before...
I loved Thorax's role and this slight deviation to proving his worth and earning friendships. Also, the tongue-flicking was a nice touch to indicate when he's sensing emotions, without use of a magical description.
A great second chapter that's a nice breather from the angst of the first chapter, but still keeps the plot nice and emotional! And heartwarming. ♡

I'm so glad to see that thorax and starlight are doing fine and that they willing to help fluttershy in any way they can.
It's cute to see how discord, despite everything, still miss fluttershy and that his emotions are slowly but surely coming back.

i would not be supprised if discords mind and magic are already attacking the spell in ways starlight canot see yet and they only need to help him mentaly enough for his mind and magic to have resisted enough for starlight to pretty much tear it out while discord full on defends from backlash.
But this story seems more like it will end up with discord breaking the spell through his relationship with fluttershy

There's a lot of great here. And I'm happy to see Discord seems a little more aware, he's making more choices and expressing wants a little more easily it seems like.
It's interesting to really see Starlight in this alternate reality and to be reminded that here, she didn't have the same chance at reformation. So, mabey she's not plotting evil schemes, but she never had the chance to grow past those beliefs. And it really highlights just how much Twilight unwittingly took from everyone by having Discord quickly do away with every problem. It's as heartbreaking to see those consequences as it has been to see Discord’s suffering.
Interesting it almost like discord was throwing a tantrum for being apart from fluttershy, I say the spell is weaking already

I agree. I do think that Discord's magic is more powerful than Twilight's. However, when he is under the mind control spell I believe his power has been greatly reduced, which is why he can't free himself from the spell that Twilight put on him. Right now he is fully reliant on other ponies to pull him through these various challenges.
This is definitely my favorite chapter so far, and I have to say, Discord having a tantrum that intense makes sense for more than just Discord being Discord. Because this is the first time he's felt actual emotion for years and they were probably overwhelming.
And intense because he wanted Fluttershy. So much that he grinned enough to show his teeth!
And that wasn't the way the Discord we know and love throws a tantrum, either. It's probably because of the spell, because normally he makes his tantrums magical. This was much more like a wild animal. An animal that's been caged for a long, long time.
Fluttershy's caring for him is working. And now I'm starting to see this spell as a tangled knot. What Fluttershy is doing is unraveling all the complicated layers that Starlight can't undo herself. It could also be that since this Starlight isn't totally reformed (which makes her even more interesting since she's truly more of a gray area now) that part of the reason she can't see through the more difficult spells is because she doesn't fully understand the other side of the coin yet. She doesn't know enough about true, mutual relationships and knows more about compliance by force.
But Fluttershy is all ABOUT true relationships and every living thing having a voice. She can untangle and loosen things. She can make it easier for Starlight to see through the 'layers'.
I'm guessing that when they visit Starlight over time, Starlight will notice the scans start changing without her direct influence... And Thorax will be the one that really understands the breadth of what's going on.
Such an excellent chapter with so many elements and implications and beautiful characterization! Starlight was fascinating and I am adoring reading as Discord starts slowly expressing himself more and more! *chef's kiss*
I love how, as the title suggests, the team is expanding and Fluttershy has more support in this endeavor. Everyone is using their unique talents to bring a little more chaos into Discord's life.
It is interesting to see how even removing one little bridge component has allowed for so much development. Alrady it seems he is expressing more, talking more. He's moved away from stating facts and has started expressing simple feelings. I wonder it it will get to a point where he is technically back to himself with the last components on the spell simply restricting his magic as opposed to his full personality.
I also love the decision for Fluttershy and Discord to share a birthday. Super cute. (My thought was April Fools, but sharing a birthday is infinitely cuter)

I like this approach! I was worried that Fluttershy would let her anger overwhelm her and perhaps distance her from her friends, while her friends would take insult or worry about harming Discord, and have some sort of self-fulfilling prophecy of Twilight’s. But I'm so glad that's not the case and her friends took on a supportive role!
And the apology scene was super realistic. I LOVED the liquid rainbow component, and that you made it spicy! I probably would have made it taste sweet like fruit loops or fruity, but I like your twist better. And it sounds like something both Rainbow AND Discord would like. And I like that she stuck around and had a genuine conversation with him.
Also, okay, that outfit Rarity is making? I love it because it is so hard to think of an outfit they could both actually appreciate and you finally did it. Unique and quirky and a little weird for Discord, but chic and risqué for Rarity! I'm impressed. And I want fanart.
But honestly, this was all just really heartwarming and you even snuck O&O in there!
And the part where they share a birthday...
That is something I did not know I wanted in a fic until today.
I loved the prequel to this story and I love romance and happy endings even if I can be a negative person, I am always a Paragon till death, I cant even do the renegade choices in Mass effect, but I do always pick the funny option for fallout 4 dialogue. my favorite character is Discord and fluttershy so of course my favorite episode is keep calm and flutter on, Ive probably listened to it hundreds of times on repeat because it's entertaining.
Edit: I posted this before and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, especially Fluttershy being A D&D nerd I can understand that, also I love that you went with her character because this plays off how sdhe was at the time, and we get to see what would happen in this when we got the episode bats where fluttershy feels wrong about just the thought of changiong something integral to any creature
YO. I am shooketh. This chapter is a rollercoaster of emotions. Like, heck yeah Discord's getting his memories back! Heck NO Discord got his memories back and he's going to find Twilight. And of course we GET why he'd want revenge, anyone in his position WOULD. But still, I don't know how things would go for him if he killed her, both with Fluttershy and in regards to his freedom as a whole. I don't think it makes him evil like Twilight claims. There's a big difference between harassing people who weren't bothering you and attacking someone who basically lobotomized you.
So I had REALLY mixed feelings on whatever he was going to do to Twilight...Then she started giving him ORDERS. When I say I SCREAMED aloud I am not exaggerating whatsoever. Somehow I got so wrapped up in Discord potentially killing Twi that I didn't consider that he's still very much cursed and probably doesn't have the ability.
And then she doesn't even MOCK him? No cocky taunting or anything, just acting like business as usual? Just giving him orders like it's a simple thing? WOW. God I love how you're writing Twilight. The fact that she's not even smug or spiteful or ANYTHING somehow makes her more intimidating (and probably more infuriating to Discord). And she freaking gave him her notes and just...dismissed him. Cold blooded. I love it. I'd be SOOO mad.

This chapter was genius. Pure, utter genius. This is a good mirror of Discord's whole problem early post-reformation. The whole "is he or isn't he genuine?" Is coming to surface. However, it's less abrupt than, say, the Tirek incident that occurred in canon. Discord didn't turn a total 180 here. Fluttershy was never in danger and he doesn't doubt their friendship as much. But he doesn't trust anyone else, and that is what holds him back and makes him more volatile.
And Twilight! Twilight! Can she be redeemed as well? The dark magic hasn't totally taken her. She still wants trust and she still wants friends. She made a counterspell!!
Twilight is still the biggest mystery in this whole story to me. Is dark magic controlling part of her actions? Will curing Discord somehow free her from the trap of dark magic? Especially since she may take a hoof in his cure?
Their interaction was exciting as heck, and I enjoyed every electric moment of it.
And I love that Discord is really and truly starting to talk more and more and express himself more, and even control his magic.
I don't even know what's going to happen next!!! I'm so excited!!!

And I 100% believe Chrysalis was just about to 'hack' into the spell until Discord saw Fluttershy take Twilight down, even if it meant a loss on their side. The loss of his autonomy and frerdom was not worth the battle or the war to her, or any of his friends.
