Yeah I was thinking of legend of zelda and Spike when I thought of Romani's Ranch and figured the story could be centered plainly on just one of the side missions with AB as the lead and we all get a happy ending. I do have another story I just started that is like halfway done with the cmc as a whole this time and Spike on a fun mystery adventure, plainly all based off a title I thought would be funny.
Well this was actually a pretty cool story so Apple Bloom saw something last night and she couldn't explain what it was but apparently Granny Smith just called them and not only that she tried to ask Twilight for how but Spike was there and Twilight was not around but Spike wants to help her to do some research and apparently he figured out it was aliens coming from outer space to still apples for some odd reason and so they prepare for the night when they come to defend their apple trees and they have a pretty cute interaction with each other but then they finally came Spike and Apple Bloom fought as best as they could and Apple Bloom got herself caught in the alien ship but Spike were not allowed that so he uses Fireball to blow up the ship and what's it did they fell but luckily both of them were okay but hurt and they both fainted but they have one Applejack and Twilight found them sleeping not knowing what was happening and unfortunately both of the kids were in trouble but at least they got the chance to save the farm this was a pretty good one keep up the good work
You know, I always love it when a story about this pairing comes out. Partially because I enjoy the pairing itself and partially because, strawman though it undoubtedly is, it amuses me to imagine all its opponents screeching about how it's "not supported by the show" or some such, as if that has literally any bearing on what people can or should ship.
That said, the story itself... well, there's a lot of potential there, but aside from there being a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes and number of bits of odd phrasing, the whole thing feels very rushed. Part of that is a tendency to skip over large swathes of time one or two sentences which are otherwise contiguous with the narrative, which usually feel very unnatural in my opinion, but I also feel that it could have benefited a lot from slowing down and letting both the tension and the romance build up more gently and evenly. Even the climax felt a lot more hurried than it should have been - events were described, but without much in the way of real detail so they didn't really have the impact they should have.
Still, I did overall like the story, it's just... like I said, it has the potential to be something really great, but doesn't really get there. Nevertheless, missed potential isn't necessarily something to knock the story for and it was definitely worth a read.

That is likely my own fault. I made this story in a day and I'm going through a sickness so I was more so doing it out of fun. I actually have more stuff of these two as I actually like the pairing a lot. I don't know, sassy and snarky just make sense to me. I need an editor too as I'm not great at reading what I write. If you are ever free maybe I can show you the other stuff I'm in the middle of writing!
