Or maybe...the Precursors are humans and are like the Forerunners/Prometheans of this story!!

1639607 That's probably true, but what I'm saying is that this author might make the humans similar to the Forerunners in Halo and just call them Precursors. Basically I'm guessing that the humans are going to be like the Prometheans from Halo 4.
