Rather than being terrified at the news of a failed changeling invasion, Trixie was intrigued by the idea of a race of illusionists. If there was one thing she could respect, it was a convincing illusion. As soon as she heard they made their home in the Badlands, her path was clear.

Days later, she hasn't learned any magic. Strangely, she's found that she doesn't mind.

(The OC tag refers to a changeling.)

5 out of 5 mustaches :moustache: :moustache: :moustache: :moustache: :moustache: VERY well done!

I think this has a lot of potential and want to see where it goes.

Hmm. I'll give you five Trixies for originality
:trixieshiftright::trixieshiftright::trixieshiftright::trixieshiftright::trixieshiftright:
and five Scootaloos for writing
:scootangel::scootangel::scootangel::scootangel::scootangel:

That was a very nice opening. I didn't notice any major issues with the writing and I had no problem reading Trixie's dialogue in her voice.

I was actually really pleasantly surprised by how civil the meeting between her and the changelings ended up being. It's not something I've seen very often, and I personally found it a refreshing change of pace. I look forward to seeing where the story eventually ends up going.

don't know what to say. I LOVE IT!! you get 10 random happy ponies.:ajsmug::coolphoto::pinkiesmile::pinkiehappy::scootangel::raritywink::twilightsmile::moustache::yay::rainbowkiss: and do I detect a pony-changeling couple? :pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::rainbowderp::rainbowderp: this, as you can see, excites Pinkie and confuses Rainbow Dash. more please!

Styx. I shall read this tomorrow.
[Edit] Yup, Dazzle was totally the main singer for whatever the pony equivalent of Styx was. Nice start, good characterization, just about everything the guy below me said.

Two things that stand out to me with this story. Firstly, the fact that we're going to have a Trixie/Dazzle shipping (I love how Changlings also have nouns/verbs for names! XD). Secondly, the fact that Trixie isn't portrayed to be under some sort of ridiculous illusion to have any actual power compared to the likes of Twilight Sparkle, nor does she hold any grudge against her (so far). She's a magician, illusions and show magic are her forte. She knows this and isn't trying to overstep her bounds. It's absolutely refreshing and a wonderful break from the set head-canon of the fanon. Also, we get a very subtle hint at the fact that Trixie's still going through hard times, but has been able to take it more in stride than she was portrayed to in Magic Duel. She's a very tenacious mare, it seems. I like that. :)

Looking forward to more, my good writer.

Happy Writing.

Boss.

That's my answer.

HOLD, good sir. "Dazzle" said that that was the name he used when he wasn't borrowing somepony else's. SomePONY... Looking at Burt, maybe we'll have to hold off on our conclusions regarding changeling names. At least for a couple of chapters. /wink

Heavy-handed foreshadowing aside, thank you for the kind words.

Now this? I like. It’s something fairly believable for someone with Trixie’s ego to do and the humour is nice and witty. The idea that Changelings could get love from performances has also been rattling around my own head for a while so it’s nice to see someone else has caught on.

Well, best of luck with it! You’ve caught my eye.

You've written this well enough that I can't believe I haven't seen it sooner. I like the premise, and I'll be looking forward to the second part.

Oh.. hmm. maybe that color combination means something to Trixie.

"I could put one of you through a woodchipper - LIVE, ONSTAGE - every week and still have enough of you to last me until spring!"

Oh, Trixie.

liking it so far, keep up with the :yay: of this .

First i though it will be just lame copy of Trixie and Leech story but I was wrong, same idea but from early start its totally something other.

Wait, who is using who at this point? Both are tricksters.

Ah, but tricky thinking can be employed toward a sincere goal.

I love this story, you must keep going. That being said, I enjoy your view of the changelings and Trixie. Deep down we all want somepony to hold us.

When we touch, when we kiss
Danger, danger high voltage!

Looks like Dazzler cannot ignore Trixie's techno!

A Burger King once refused to serve Sheriff Silverstar's mustache breakfast at 11 AM. It punched the place so hard, it became a Wendy's.

Great blend of comedy, adorability, and epic frontier facial hair. I look forward to the show.

A :trixieshiftleft: X Changeling story??? :pinkiegasp:
Well, it definetly seems original. I shall read this.

well, another really awesome story; and I stop at chapter 3; now I want more!?! :flutterrage:

Moar. Moar. Moar! Moar!!! Moar!!!1111

Kghm. Excuse me, but I really like it. It probably contradicts Season 3, but does not matter. I want moar.

Well as it stands this is a really nice setup.
Probably the only psuedo mistake I see is... Why is this cancelled? Was it real life again?
Sigh, so many untold stories That should have been.
Keep going! ;)

Kinda sad that this fic is dead. I like the idea of the Illusionist and the Magician.

The changelings cycled through various minor changes to her anatomy and appearance, their bodies constantly in flux. They rendered her as a pegasus, an earth pony, a very small alicorn, and even as some kind of lizard-pony with a coat of iridescent scales. There were so many versions of herself milling around that she was having trouble watching all the action. "I could do some real death-defying stunts with all these backup copies..." She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "I could put one of you through a woodchipper - LIVE, ONSTAGE - every week and still have enough of you to last me until spring!" The idea was so exciting that she did a little jig on the spot.

I kind of wanna see the woodchipper part.
