It's been centuries since the end of the show, and over time Equestria has fallen prey to natural global warming. Eventually all life perished except for Twilight Sparkle, who survived because she was a powerful alicorn.
Over time, she forgot who she was. Now she has returned to the ruins of Ponyville, where powerful memories resurface.
