Rivera, escapes Equestria with the help of a source of unknown origin, allowing him to return back to the human Realm. Twilight Sparkle later discovers Rivera's absents and enters the human world in an attempt to bring him back, for a Holiday of unknown importance.

The only question here is, will Rivera cooperate, or refuse to return to the World of Harmony?

After Rivera accidentally breaks Rainbow Dash's Heart, Rivera goes through a Terrifying Nightmare, that has him start paying more attention to her, otherwise his antics might get her killed. After the terrifying Nightmare, haunted by the events of what happened in his dreams, goes through the reality of spending more time with Rainbow Dash, in hopes of preventing the Nightmare from becoming a Reality.
