Why is Steven Universe so frickin' awesome? · 2:47am May 13th, 2016

Is officially my favourite episode of the season thus far. Trixie was great, Twilight showed some real personality outside 'the perfect princess' caricature she's been playing of late, and even Starlight has been starting to grow on me (Never thought I'd hear myself say those words). Overall, very impressed! ****/*****
Spike episodes are pretty much a mixed bag, but this was one of the better ones. Some surprisingly exciting action scenes for an episode under the banner of 'My Little Pony', and Princess Ember is a good new character. I'm anticipating some interesting fics which involving shipping her with a certain baby dragon...
I also liked the many disguises of Twilight and Rarity, the ego of the Dragon Lord and FINALLY a villain who hasn't been redeemed at the end. Step forward, Garble.
1. I can't shoot to save my life (literally)
2. I can't turn in a car or reverse (real life echoes there)
3. I hate all of these people. Why must they be so needlessly violent?
Perhaps it's not the game for me. Back to Undertale I go, and that damn underground laboratory...
What I thought of this episode:
Average. We learned about as much on the CMC's roles at the start, than we did at the end.
And the moral 'you don't always have to hang around as a group' is pretty pointless, as all the Crusaders have done stuff by themselves before, so they should know that already.
So, despite doing everything I should do, I still ended up with a **** ending.
What the heck does 'make better friends with Undyne' mean, anyway?
Loved it. A great exploration of Pinkie and Maud's relationship, with Rarity adding immensely to the fun. Lots of good gags, from predictable rock puns to little background details. I'm so glad it didn't end with the cop-out of them finding that shop open with the pouch, that would have been too easy and detracted from the moral. Now, I'm afraid I must go and syringe my ears out, after hearing Pinkie's party cannon go off so much in one episode, I'm afraid I may have gone
It was... An experience.
To put it mildly.
The next chapter of 'A Mother's Love' will be out tomorrow.
It's the longest one so far.
Brace yourselves...
On a sidenote, can my 100th follower please turn up?
I feel like I'm on a precipice, with no-one to push me off.
Who will be that special someone?
Could it be... You?
(Highly doubtful, or you wouldn't be reading this now)
Part 1. A solid episode, but too much baby. Starlight still seems like a pretty pointless addition, just a less neurotic Twilight. Some good jokes, especially involving Spike and an exhausted Shining Armour, but not one I'll watch again for a while. Rating:***
Didn't like the voices. Lame villain. Apart from that, 'Salright.
