#1 - "and then". Its importance is two-fold. Whatever precedes "and then" is cemented in life's canon. It's fixed. Whatever procedes from "and then" is the next in a sequence of events. If in the present tense, "and then" signifies events that shape the future. The future is plastic; it conforms to the cumulative events of the past. Shape the present, shape the future.
#2 - "everything is fine". The only difference between real control and the illusion of control is your attitude. If life is a burning building, you may feel the need to scurry from blaze to blaze, tending to each as needed. Trying to fix every problem at the same time will fix nothing; sometimes, you need to just ignore the panic of imminent failure, and focus on one item.
