So I thought, "Why not make a blog post?" · 8:09am Jan 14th, 2020

Just noticed I've somehow picked up a second follower. Hi Ann. Not sure how it happened, but I'm not complaining. Now there's two people who will randomly get a notification about a random blog post containing nothing particularly useful or informative. Unless I'm wrong about how FIMfiction's Groups system works (which is entirely possible, and given the number of views I've had and Dave's inactivity, now seems probable) in which case, hello random people who probably don't know or care

Why Douglas Adams is the Best (Part Two) · 7:40pm Jan 12th, 2020

“The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.

Why Math is Depressing Sometimes · 12:24am Jan 8th, 2020

I'm a little weird. I occasionally do math I don't have to. I once took the concept of literary world-building way too far. I calculated the density of the "planet". And the percentage of elements in the crust (by weight), the atmospheric composition, distance from the star, and a bunch of other unnecessary details. So it should come as no surprise that I decided to find out the total number of words in my Read It Later bookshelf. The result? 3.2 million. There's not even 50

Why Douglas Adams is The Best (Part One) · 8:48am Jan 2nd, 2020

“It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you

This is a Title · 11:57pm Dec 24th, 2019

Just finished watching Rise of Skywalker. Not going to spoil it, but I will say this: none of the tearjerker moments got to me. Instead, only three things got me- "Hey kid"; a small gold object on a cord, and Carrie Fisher got first billing in the credits.

I'm not really sure why I'm doing this · 3:47am Dec 21st, 2019

Am I the only one who had Season 9 spoiled for them? I managed to avoid most of the details, but I still know how the finale ends. I don't agree with it. I'm just not going to watch the last episode. Why? Because the canon events completely overturn my headcanons and that is unacceptable.

I'm also perfectly aware that only one person besides myself will ever read this. Hi Dave.
