I read and write in an attempt to figure out which questions and beliefs our little microcosm of a community holds. My verdict? I'm not saying.
So Bookplayer had a blog recently about 50 questions to answer. There's a lot about pony culture and world-building, so I figured it'd be a good exercise to get some elements of my head-canon down in writing.
The Princesses:
1. How old are Celestia and Luna?
~3700 years old each.
2. How old is Cadance?
40 years old.

Hey all! It's been a rough week for myself with writing an essay and giving a research presentation for my courses, but that hasn't stopped my editor and I, with the help of our pre readers as well, from being able to get through and release another chapter. It's the final stretch for university classes for me this year, and I'm focusing on a rewrite of some draft chapters that are coming up. If I time this right there shouldn't be too much of a delay.
So I watched the latest episode of MLP just now.

Maud's understated personality and lack of enthusiasm, but deep down an energetic love of their friend reminded me of the second episode of the first season of the BBC Channel 4 show, "Father Ted".

As I write what is the twenty third draft chapter of my story, Siblings at the Edge, I feel inclined towards taking a bit of time and letting my audience in on just a small part of the creative process that's gone into this story.
Rather than make the obvious Sesame Street reference because of the latest episode's title, I'm going to go for something a little different.

Personally this is now my favourite episode of the season, even more than Princess Twilight Sparkle and more than Pinkie Apple Pie. It had a little bit of everything, and was a particularly lovely treasure trove of world building.
