I really feel uncomfortable giving my phone number to Google for 'verification'. There's just something about it that doesn't feel right. I mean, this was the one time I tried updating my email to Gmail. If I were a spambot, I'm not doing a very good job at making tons of accounts, am I? Google has easy access to the technology which detects how many times an IP tries to create an account, yet they don't use that.
