How to Run QuickBooks File Doctor

Now that you have the QuickBooks Tool Hub installed, you can use it to run QuickBooks File Doctor. Here’s how:

  1. Open QuickBooks Tool Hub:
  • Double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your desktop to open the application.
  1. Select Company File Issues:
  • In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, click on the “Company File Issues” tab. This section includes tools designed to address problems related to company files.
  1. Run QuickBooks File Doctor:
  • Click on the “Run QuickBooks File Doctor” button. This will launch the QuickBooks File Doctor tool.
  • If prompted, choose the company file that you want to diagnose. If you don’t see your company file in the list, click “Browse” to locate it on your computer.
  1. Choose File Damage and Network Connectivity:
  • In QuickBooks File Doctor, select the option that says “Check your file” (advanced) and then click “Next.”
  • You will be prompted to enter your QuickBooks admin username and password. Enter the required credentials and click “Next.”
  1. Start the Scan:
  • Click “Start Scan” to begin the diagnosis. The scan process can take some time, depending on the size of your company file and the extent of the issues.

  • Once the scan is complete, QuickBooks File Doctor will display the results. If any issues are found, the tool will attempt to repair them automatically.
