Ah, and another day of editing draws to a close with me putting up Chapter 3 of Assembly. You guys have no idea how badly I was tempted to put this up on Monday or Sunday night, but if I break my schedule now, well crud, I may as well just throw it up as I edit it, and I don't actually want to do that. Limit's exposure. Plus, it's a 260,000 word story. One of my pre-readers lost an entire weekend to it when he first came on halfway through, reading the first 150K or so in a single sitting.

Today, I managed to get my hands (hooves) on a Keychain with everyone's favorite single mom pony, Derpy. Derpy is one character that I've actually been pretty pleased to see grow out of the fandom, because as a whole, they've made her a fairly inspiring story. She's (usually) a single mother with a lazy eye, a little bit of a clumsy nature, and yet she's always positive, bubbly, and hardworking. Alright, I'm only waiting on a cover now, so here's the official posting schedule for The Dusk Guard. A chapter will be published every Wednesday and every Saturday, unless my schedule goes completely kerplooey and I can't manage to make all the minor edits I need to beforehand, in which case the new chapter will be weekly, preferably on Saturday.

Nothing like a sick-day to drag you down. Still, I'm getting some work done getting Dusk Guard ready for their big debut. Cover art is on it's way, and the edits are going smoothly.

Rewrites and edits. They're no fun, but at the same time, immensely satisfying. Getting within a week or two of the final release at this rate though. Spent all day yesterday writing various alternative beginnings, aiming for the sweet spot of a start. Almost there. I'll have it today, I'm sure of it.

The first draft is finished. After five months of work, the Dusk Guard are almost ready to make their big debut.

It's been a long journey. 260+ thousand words worth of it, more in fact, once I count all the revision and editing, and flat out rewrites. There were a few chapters that took forever to get right.

It's almost through the first draft now. After months of writing, and months before that of planning and character modeling, the first adventure of the Dusk Guard is almost ready to unveil itself to the world! It'll be the first thing I've ever published that's over 100K words (actually it may already be over 150K), which is a big accomplishment, as my only published work so far was only 33K words.
