If I keep running,
It can never catch me.
If I keep hiding,
It will never find me.
The beast I fight against each day,
And hide from each night.
It haunts me.
It keeps me asleep in the morn,
And awake at night.
I wage a constant battle against it,
But I will never win.
It will conquer me.
It will own me.
It will find me.
It will catch me.
And it will take me.
If you run,
It will follow you
It will match you
But if you run fast enough,
It won't ever catch you.
If you run fast,
It will give chase
It's speed will go higher
But if you run long enough,
It will surely tire.
All things tire, my friend. Even emotions.
