In future Equestria, justice has evolved since the time of the Royal Sisters and the Elements of Harmony. Interpretations of the law and customs have changed. Cozy Glow personally experiences one of these new customs.

so ... thats a way to explain the new generation, disturbing

This is so wrong. That poor filly. I suppose this is a logical extreme for what they did in s9.

Would love a dumbed down explanation of the story. Like why they decided this was necessary or Twilight agreeded to it.

Literally half the story is in the implications.
That's what makes it art.

An interesting premise. Heavy is the head that wears the crown after all. The new version of "Carmen Sandiego" had a similar part where one character, he adoptive mother of another, had to kill her adoptive daughter with 'kindness' The story was sadly cathartic & well done in a dark way. I'm not usually a fan of such things, but it was quite well written. One small editorial thing, you missed a word in the sentence below:

They had freed her to meet one of the greatest villains of all time for themselves; to be part of history.

It's pretty obvious, or at least it was to me. She agreed to little things here and little things there to make Equestria better for all, and undoubtedly those who had only their own interests at heart managed to get their little things snuck in among the rest. And over time, all of the little things gradually clumped together to become bigger things, at which point you just need to add in a sufficient number of ponies--all piously mouthing "for the good of everyone" and quietly adding after that "but mostly for the good of me"--willing to use those big things.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I'm glad you found it to be a good read!

Super good. It was dark, dreadful, and beautiful. I love your style and the gripping, engaging way you describe scenes. Wonderful story.

It's a surprise that this Twilight did not fall to her Nightmare-equivalent yet.

Oh geez. I was wondering how this would lead to gen five and wow, you did a good job. Its sad and well written.

Hello! Have a review. Apparently the first time I've read a fic of yours, but I doubt it will be the last. Interesting and increasingly disturbing.

Thanks so much! I'll link in the description for extra visibility.

I certainly hope that, if you do venture into my other stories, you find them to be satisfying reads.

You're welcome, and thank you. As for reading something else by you, I'd say that was a when, not an if. I've read good things about your stuff from Pascoite and Present Perfect, two people whose ponyfic opinions I respect. As to which fic, that I couldn't yet say. I expect it to happen at some point, though!
