Sweet Celestia and by the Light of Luna... so many words were slaughtered. 3K to get the chapter even started in the first place, another 4K from scraping and restarting the latter scene of the chapter, and around 600 words of Zecora couplets now sitting in a scraps folder in the event I can work them in somehow somewhere else.
Unchanging Truths was supposed to be the easier fic to write...
Okay, screw it. Sunbreak expansion on Switch went on sale, I still have some money in my dwindling USA bank account. I'm going to comfort food. Not even going to bother streaming it, just gonna play it to relax. Holy cow. Even with two holiday weekends in a row, this one was a struggle. I knew what I wanted to do with the chapter, but I did not realize how difficult it was going to be. Add Zecora in the mix so her rhymes don't diminish the tone of the chapter and you have a recipe for one of the most difficult chapters I've written in a while.
Master Rank calls for me in Monster Hunter: Sunbreak. Gonna do that for like... a week I guess? Basically, writing is going to be happening while at work and I really need to unwind a bit. This chapter was a god damned grind and a half. I swear, it had to have been 80+ hours. A JRPG-length of time devoted to it. Words are suffering sometime.
The worst part about this chapter? Despite kicking my butt, I love it. Please enjoy the words responsibly.

I think anyone who's written a decent amount has been there. Sometimes words are struggle, even if you know what's supposed to happen. Have fun in sunbreak and unwind!
