This was an astonishingly difficult story to write, from an emotional perspective. I really like Fluttershy, and emotionally-torturing her even in retrospect was not a pleasant thing to do. It was essentially a sequel to Bad Horse's Fluttershy's Night Out and depicts Fluttershy's long-term reaction to what happened in that tale, around four your years after the fact. Obviously from my description, Fluttershy hasn't yet fully come to terms with the events, nor does she fully understand why they happened to her. The story is about Rarity having a talk with Fluttershy that Fluttershy's own mother really should have had with her at around age 12 or so, but which Sweetwing didn't have with her because Sweetwing was too busy being insane to deal with mundane matters such as telling her how to handle stallions.
I hope people like it -- it's a weird sort of combination of the extremely emotional and the extremely intellectual. But then, so are Rarity and Fluttershy, when you look past the beauty of those two mares.
