Hello, guys, welcome to yet my third Equestria Girls review! We are now going to jump right into Friendship Games! This has got to be the most entertaining Equestria Girls movie out of them all which is really saying something, considering what the next three EG pieces will be about. No, seriously, I didn’t think too highly of this movie at first, but after having watched it earlier today and reflecting back on it, I actually enjoyed this one a lot. The writing and direction in this was not that bad and it was more interesting than were the previous installments. As a matter of fact, this is probably my favorite of them all by far.

The fact that this film brought us a new Twilight Sparkle a.k.a Sci-Twi was really intriguing to look at, and it really makes me wish that the Twilight we know made more interactions with Sci-Twi throughout the rest of the series. Oh well, at least Spring Breakdown took that golden opportunity later on.

Speaking of Sci-Twi, the way she was treated in Crystal Prep Academy was really sad to watch considering how she was at the top of her class and disliked by almost the entire school because of how different she is. You can see what she is going through, and you can sympathize with her and her struggles. I mean, wow, she’s even humbler than Fluttershy! So you can see how and why she turned into Midnight Sparkle during the climax and used the magic she acquired to convey those raging and power-hungry emotions.

Of course, her Midnight Sparkle design so much more menacing and appealing than Sunset’s demon form. That says something right there. It’s almost as this series has gotten slowly better over time in from one installment to another.

Josh Haber actually did well in writing this engaging storyline for our main character and taught us a lesson about how our emotions and our misguided thoughts can cloud our reasoning and lead us to ways that can harm those we care about and ourselves. Well done!

The score and songs were really well done and written well thanks to William Anderson and Daniel Ingram respectively. The animation was still solid as ever, and the voice acting of Tara Strong and company were great. The character development was really phenomenal as well, and it really made me almost emotional to see Twilight go through these troublesome stages in this movie.

Now, as for these girls:

They were absolutely fun to watch! Ha, I can kinda see them as opposite counterparts of Sunset and her friends which is actually a little clever in my opinion. If I have to choose a favorite, it would be honestly... really difficult to choose. I can’t decide which one it is; the fact of the matter is, they are all good. That’s just it. But if I can think of at least two, it would be Indigo Zap and Lemon Zest. Their character designs and personalities are the best. Change my mind. ✅

Oh, and I really hate Cinch. I’m sure we can all agree that she was just... so irritating to watch. She’s basically the Equestria Girls version of Sentinel Prime from Transformers: Animated when you really think about it. You can’t really have a good series without one, can you? Hmm, why does she also remind me of The Grinch? (Gasp) She’s a mean one... Mr. Grinch!

So, I will give this a 9/10! Definitely worth checking back again! Thanks for reading this, and stay tuned for my review of Legend of Everfree tomorrow!

Peace out! ✌🏼

You know, Cinch's personality is more uglier than Mr. Scarface.

It's funny cause it's true.

Suddenly I’ve grown quite curious about something:

Outside of the Dazzlings and Principal Cinch, most of the villains featured in EG are often individuals corrupted by Equestrian magic before getting reformed afterwards.

With all that being said, what kind of new and fresh villains would you have wanted to see Sunset and the Human Main 6 face off against?

Not only that, have you noticed how they have always faced female villains/antagonists?

To answer your question, I want to first see them fight against a legitimate male villain who genuinely hates them. Second, he must not be reformed. The type of character I want to give him is that he is a no-nonsense type of villain who feels as if magic from Equestria is a threat to humanity and wants to rid the earth of its essence and get rid of Sunset and her friends since they wield magic as their power. Once they are both gone, he can finally rest to see his own vision of safety and tranquility truly succeed.

Any thoughts on that? I can explain further if you’re interested.

So you can see how and why she turned into Midnight Sparkle during the climax and used the magic she acquired to convey those raging and power-hungry emotions.

Of course, her Midnight Sparkle design so much more menacing and appealing

So Mr. J, you think Midnight Sparkle would easily apply to being the true evil form of Twilight Sparkle of not only her human counterpart.... but also to her Equestrian Counterpart as well? :3

Awesome =3

If you ask me.... that would be a much more unique and enjoyable plot line for Twiggles in Season 9, you know.... to provide like how all the way prior to the events of the show.... Lulu was corrupted into becoming Nightmare Moon. ^^

Funny thing. I know that Sunset was not prominently featured in FiM, but...I’ve often thought that she’d be the right gal to succeed Twilight as Princess of Friendship, mainly since Twilight would obviously have her hooves tied running Equestria.
