I'm a long time science fiction and animation fan who stumbled into My Little Pony fandom and got caught -- I guess I'm a Brony Forever now.

So, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this takes place in your counter part to Yugoslavia/Serbia/Balkans and the Wolves are your fanon interpretation of the Ottomans? Awesome:pinkiehappy:

Yes. This is my Fantasy Counterpart Balkans, specifically Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

I'm glad you like it.

Pony Gavrilo Princip? Huh. Well, I know how that story went for us. And possibly for ponies. Given how they seemed to recapitulate the twentieth century before the Cataclysm, haven't they fought this war before?

This blow would convince the Griffons that the Speakers were too tough to dominate, that they were naturally a free people whose freedom must be respected.

Oh, you poor, adorable fools...

Hello again, Random. I see you're doing what you do best.

It's fascinating how hard it is tell where willful delusion ends and active Shadow corruption begins. Fascinating and terrifying. Looking forward to more.

This is horribly similar to what caused the First World War...

I like it!

I'm tempted to link the Extra Credits Seminal Tragedy video, but spoilers.

This is going to be horrible gruesome grimdark happening to pastel ponies, let us watch.

you know the way they talk of assassination, and them targeting someone of high rank kinda make me think of the assaassination of the duke of ferdinand, and we all know how well that ended... good start

I haven't even started reading this verse yet (I'm adding all the stories to my database and will read them as soon as I can) but the shear complexity of the relationships between stories in this verse, it's like you're screaming at the rest of the fandom to get on your level hahaha

All I can say so far is -- so Wolves live openly on this continent? And am I wrong, or are they a sort-of Ottoman Turkish Empire? I'm thinking this from the references to the 'Newsoldiers' (Janissaries?) and given that the Turks' mythic ancestor was Asena the she-wolf, well.

I'm eager to see how this tragedy ends.

Yes. They're the Ottoman-equivalent. And I really should finish this story -- I have the start of Chapter 2 and all of Chapter 4 written!

But they're meant to be a different lupoid species or at least sub-species, though.

7299044 Like, say, the Eurasian wolf as compared to Arctic Wolves?

I was kind of thinking that the Wolfen being higher-tech and better-organized than the North Amareican Wolves might be the equivalent of the Eurasian Wolf being more aggressive than the Arctic/American ones.
