This story is a sequel to Splintershard

It was as if the world had set itself aflame. Fleets upon fleets of airships darkened the skies, sent by a powerful fragment of what had once been Equestria's nobility--sent with the intent to take back Canterlot once and for all.

And yet...

After the sky tore open...

Nothing was left.

I feel like I would have understood some things better with context (the Gadget stuff and all) and that some moments would have been better visually then in writing format. But I felt some of the stuff you were trying to convey, the sensation of being lost. I liked the "Outin Side" chapter, felt like it was the first where I started to piece things together.
It's still a bit confusing overall, and I'm not sure how much is voluntary, and how much is to blame on me not knowing the original fic. (especially the last and first chapters, I feel like I'm missing a lot of context)

I'll try to check the story it originates from one day.

Hello, fellow contestant! Your friendly neighborhood Hat Man is here with a quick review!

Not knowing the context of the original story definitely makes me feel like I'm missing something, and feeling lost is the roughest part of this story.

On the other hand, the imagery and toying with the language is a real treat. It's evocative and dreamlike and I was getting into it once I got over my general confusion.

Also, I really like the chapter where you recommended TTS. At first, I resisted it, but as it got harder to follow, I took your advice. I have no idea how you did it, but I've never seen someone use that aspect of the site as an integral part of the storytelling, and it really impressed me!

This is certainly an acquired taste, but I definitely enjoyed it. Have a like! This story deserves more!
