I was trapped inside of a robot for only a few months. Through the power of Equestria's many technological advancements, including the invention of robot ponies, I've been able to stay alive by being the power source of a robot made in my image. At first, it was weird, because Rarity had to program me and control me until I was able to move and do things on my own, like a mom teaching her filly how to walk. But in time, I got used to my new form. I still spent time with my friends, and they accepted me for who I was. I'll admit, it was cool to do things like fly without wings and produce fans for cooling down on warm days.
Rarity did a really dumb thing by reviving me. Lots of unicorns probably die from backfiring spells. I mean, she's a unicorn; she should know that, right?
Well, anyway, I just hope my final words to her changed her mind about trying to revive me again. I'm happy just staying under the ground like this, peaceful and quiet, with the body I was born in. I've accepted the death of my original vessel, even if I myself remain alive.

Yep, I totally agree. I try to read all the Sweetie Bot stories I can but have grown bored of the AI stuff. There really isn't a problem with it but they don't really read like the Sweetie Bot stories that I love so dearly.

Also this was an interesting story, I am curious about a couple things though, why does she want to stay dead? The way the story makes it out to be makes it seems she's trapped in her rotting corpse underground where she was barried, basically trapped in her own body and seeing nothing but black.
I would rather be a robot than experience that.

Actually no! It's been a while since I've watched that video. That's quite a funny coincidence, though.
It's meant to represent both Apple Bloom and Scootaloo speaking at the same time, combining both of their dialogue colors.
I've always seen Sweetie as a sort of "wise beyond her years" kind of pony, and that's how I tend to characterize her. She knows about death and is happy accepting her fate even though her COD was an accident -- being a robot was something she enjoyed until she learned about Rarity keeping memories from her and her friends suffering the same fate. Now, she doesn't want to go back and would rather stay as a trapped spherical soul inside of her corpse because Rarity could just extract her soul, go to Twilight, and have a new Sweetie Bot built.
I will admit, I could have expanded on this in the story itself, but one of the purposes of the story was to make people ask questions after reading it, so I'd say I somewhat succeeded.

There are a few "Sweetie Bot learns about AI" fics I've seen that I've very much enjoyed -- and it's a fun concept to explore -- but there are a lot more of them than I'd expect. I had thought of hopping on that bandwagon initially, but ultimately tossed it in the trash.
