Another year older, another year grayer.

Things have settled into a routine for a while, but neither of them admits how dragging it is. The boredom and tedium of aging has started to wear them down.

After all, they saved the world multiple times, their businesses are incredibly successful, and all their friends and loved ones are happy, so why wouldn’t they be, too?

What is missing that makes them feel so hollow?

At least you still have your last friend in Ponyville.

The best part of your day.

And maybe, just maybe, she’s the answer to your emptiness.

this made me sob tears. 10/10

Old lady yuri <3

I've been loving this all so far but this chapter, I just had to stop to leave a comment. I love how vibrant they are in spite of their age, really homing in the fact that this is their moment to make up for all things unsaid and undone. But on top of that it really does still feel like there's been a clear toll on them to watch the world go on without them for one reason or another.
I'm a sucker for the tough conversations, and I feel like you handled them really well! Just the tension of when is the right time to say the thing you've always wanted to, when you're realizing things aren't right, havenjt been right, I just adored every bit of it.
Its so clear theyre absolutely everything to eachother even without them quite knowing yet.

(Also thank you for canceled young rarijack episode justice)

Your fic made me research that cancelled rarijack ep and inspired me on that little moment heheh. It just feels so incredibly right, to love someone for so long that it becomes as easy as breathing. And much like so, you do it involuntarily!

And the mix between lighthearted but with an undertone of melancholy was deeply enjoyable to thread on this. I adored every moment of writing it! and im glad you like it too!!

Lovely work, especially that uncertain but joyous ending. Thank you for a lovely tale of overcoming decades of inertia.

Seeing Rarity bring another cup of wine to her lips, Applejack raised an eyebrow. “Now hangon, how many of these have ya had?”

"Hang on"

Another giggle, another swig. “Ah, yes, the tourists. My clientele is varied, but more often than not a group of fans stops by my shop; And on my franchises too, (Sassy and Coco often forward the letters to me) Not that I mind, that infamy is certainly something I dreamed of…”

How do you talk in parentheses? Shouldn’t that be an en dash ("—")?

With a nod, the Farmer smiled more. “Oh, they still visit once a month. It’s always nice to see ‘em. I think they might try to have fillies of their own soon; Though that may only be my sisterly premonition, heh.”

I think that should be "foals", "fillies" means "daughters", mares are more common in Equestria but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider the possibility of a colt.

With another snicker, Applejack took another swig of the wine, already being over a glass in. “Hoho, y’know what that reminds us? Our Princess friends. Don’t they got like ten holidays related to celebration’ their love or somethin?”

That’s almost obnoxious :rainbowlaugh:

Everyday, work on what you love, whether you still love it or not. Work because it keeps you busy.

That is such an Applejack line.

I love this fic, although the mention of Applejack being her last friend in town made me think the rest have died.
