"The Sky is Gone" Completion, Description updated with Message List and "The Sky is Gone: Epiphany" reminder · 4:16am Nov 7th, 2022

"The Sky is Gone" is finished. At least the first part is. There is more coming, in a week from now, with Part 2 "The Sky is Gone: Epiphany".
Until then, why not kick back, recap the story and re-read certain messages of it (or all of them) to refresh your memory? The description is now updated with a list consisting of all the first messages that Silverstream has recorded on each day since she left the dorms. You can interrupt reading the story now and then easily pick it up again where you left off, thanks to a neatly arranged list that doesn't feel as overwhelming as the default "chapter" list. The list is also numbered, so if you wondered how many days have already passed since the beginning of the apocalypse, now you can tell for sure!

Now "The Sky is Gone" will be on a one week break, but don't forget Silverstream's return on November 13th, with "The Sky is Gone: Epiphany"!

I WANT TO SAY SOMETHING TOO!
but im bad at that stuff... so... i will borrow one.

Stephen King once wrote, “Nightmares exist outside of logic, and there’s little fun to be had in explanations; they’re antithetical to the poetry of fear.” In a horror story, the victim keeps asking why - but there can be no explanation, and there shouldn’t be one. The unanswered mystery is what stays with us the longest, and it’s what we’ll remember in the end..."

Seriously though, why is there 2 of me?...

I have already experienced this. What Stephen King described there, I have been feeling it with "The Sky is Gone". The events have become a little clearer since Silverstream left the dorms to set out and find her friends and she has eventually seen things that are a little more organized than most of the things she sees. That felt unsatisfactory to me and I suddenly found Silverstream's changed world, the Dark Equestria, a little less exciting. So I very well know that feeling and understand exactly what he means.

Somewhere down the road, perhaps at the end of it, or maybe at a completely new fork, there will be an answer. But I don't think that Silverstream will ever solve all the mysteries about this dark, new world. Questions will remain, the darkness does not give away all of its secrets.

I don't know. But let him stay. Mysteries are the spice of horror, as your quote just made clear.
