Come Write at Ponyville Ciderfest 2023! · 3:58am Nov 13th, 2022
Hello, all!
Hopefully you've heard the news, but in case you haven't, Ponyville Ciderfest 2023 will be an interactive celebration of writers, and we'd love for you to join us! We'll be back in Milwaukee in late October/early November (dates pending)!
Our 2023 convention is going to be all about authors! We want to shine a spotlight on our fandom's incredible storytellers (that's you!) with more panels, events, and special surprises all focused on writers and the stories we tell. If you've been to our conventions in 2018 (musicians) or 2021 (cosplayers), then you know that when we do a theme, we go big.
One of our first big projects is a collab: an immersive story experience for all the attendees. They'll interact with an ongoing adventure that we've planned across the whole weekend, and their choices will impact the outcome of the story. Peppered in will be secrets for attendees to find, lots of roleplaying moments, and so much more. If you've heard of the Galactic Starcrusier experience at Disney World, that's the feel we're aiming for.
I'm volunteering as the coordinator of this project, and I want to extend an invitation: Charlie Worthley (our con chair) has told me that first and foremost, we want this convention to highlight the fantastic talent that we have within this fandom. I want to ensure there is space for many, many people to contribute and be recognized in big and small ways, and while I can't fully share out all the details yet, I would love for you to apply to be a part of our writing, editing, and/or leadership teams. We've even got space for actors as well!
Perhaps most importantly, we'd like to hear from you, the writing community, about what you'd like to see. While we can't promise everything, we will read every message we're sent and do our best to deliver on an unforgettable experience.

In all seriousness, I usually opt for Everfree Northwest as my pony convention of choice, but this definitely has me intrigued.

Awesome! EFNW is a fantastic con as well, and I wouldn't fault anyone for having to make a tough choice. That said, I hope you'll join us at Ciderfest! Watch this space for more updates as time goes on.
